The Miami Heat's front office has zeroed in on a possible blockbuster trade with the Phoenix Suns for their 15-time All-Star Kevin Durant.

While the Heat have remained among Durant's preferred destinations as the offseason begins, the franchise may be keeping their options open.
These new ventures from the Heat won't become a full pivot unless talks with the Suns fall through, but recent reports from Sactown Sports' Allen Stiles revealed that the Heat and Sacramento Kings have recently conducted intriguing discussions.
Notably, Stiles shared that the name DeMar DeRozan hasn't come up in these conversations after it was believed that the 6-time All-Star could be a possible target for the Heat.

"No DeMar DeRozan convo has happened with the Miami Heat," Stiles said Friday.

"I obviously can't tell you where I got this information, but it's someone very close to the situation that would know."
After driving the point home that DeRozan has not been involved in any preliminary talks, Stiles dropped a crucial nugget of information that could stir plenty of rumors regarding the Heat's intentions this offseason.
"Now, let me say it like this. No DeMar DeRozan conversation has happened with the Heat, yet. But, convos have happened with the Miami Heat."
In a stunning turn of events, Stiles' report indicates that the Heat may have a level of interest in members of the Kings outside of their star scorer DeRozan, and a potential candidate could stick out.

One possible name to monitor might be the Kings' streaky scoring guard Malik Monk, who contributed a career-best 17.2 points and 5.6 assists for Sacramento in 65 appearances this past season.
At just 27 years old, Monk has developed into one of the NBA's best first-guy-off-the-bench scorers, placing as the runner-up in Sixth Man of the Year voting in 2023-24.
If he were to be added to the Heat prior to the 2025-26 season, he could be a perfect reserve option for their first-time All-Star Tyler Herro.
In any case, the Heat acquiring any King outside of DeRozan as a pivot from the Durant pursuit would be a shock considering their perceived interest in the 3-time All-NBA Team selection.
