Dubai AI Seal Draws Global Interest as 325 Companies Seek Certification

Dubai has received a wave of global interest for its newly launched 'Dubai AI Seal', with 325 companies applying for the certification aimed at promoting trusted, transparent, and ethical use of artificial intelligence. Launched by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, the Dubai AI Seal offers a rigorous framework to assess and certify companies operating AI-based products or integrating AI into their services. The initiative is open to all firms licensed in Dubai and is free to join via the official website. The Seal is already proving to be a key step in the emirate's broader strategy to lead globally in responsible AI deployment. It will be required for companies participating in upcoming government-led AI projects, reinforcing its role as a gateway to strategic collaborations. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met with representatives of the first certified companies during Dubai AI Week. Notable recipients of the top-tier 'Tier S' certification include IBM and e&, alongside other early adopters spanning health, software, media, and real estate sectors. Each certified company receives a unique serial number and classification tier, with permission to showcase the Seal across digital and promotional channels. 'The Dubai AI Seal is part of a broader effort to attract top-tier tech companies and startups from across the UAE and the world,' said Saeed Al Falasi, Executive Director of the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence. 'Our goal is to build a trusted ecosystem of AI pioneers.' By setting a new benchmark for ethical AI innovation, the Dubai AI Seal further positions the city as a leading hub for cutting-edge, responsible technology. News Source: Emirates News Agency

Dubai Future Foundation Launches AI Hub to Connect Africa, Middle East and Europe

Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), through its Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), has partnered with the South African Artificial Intelligence Association (SAAIA) to launch a new AI trade and investment hub aimed at accelerating cross-border collaboration across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. The initiative, announced this week, brings together regional partners from Europe and the Middle East to create a pipeline for AI innovation, investment, and talent exchange. The hub is designed to remove market access and capital barriers, supporting startups and investors in emerging markets and strengthening international cooperation in AI. DCAI, established by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and overseen by DFF, is leading the launch in the Middle East. Saeed Al Falasi, Director of DCAI, said the initiative is about more than technology—it's about enabling 'ideas, talent, and capital' to move freely across borders and shaping a more inclusive AI future. Dr. Nick Bradshaw, Founder and Chairman of SAAIA, highlighted Africa's underrepresentation in the global AI landscape. 'Despite producing some of the world's most dynamic startups, African innovators face limited access to capital and markets,' he said. 'This partnership is a strategic step to close that gap.' The hub will act as a matchmaking platform for startups and investors, support business expansion, and promote responsible AI development. Recent milestones, like the $628 million acquisition of Tunisian AI startup InstaDeep, underscore Africa's growing potential in the AI space. Both organizations emphasize the partnership is not symbolic but a practical mechanism to drive real trade and innovation impact across continents. News Source: Dubai Media Office
