The dairy cooperative is ranked 17th, while its main competitor, Delhi-based Mother Dairy, jumped six spots to rank 35th on the list. Commenting on the ranking, Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of GCMMF, said the achievement was a result of consumer trust and collective efforts by dairy farmers who are part of the cooperative. Mother Dairy milk becomes costly by up to Rs 2/litre
New Delhi: Leading milk supplier Mother Dairy has increased milk prices by up to Rs 2 per litre to partly offset rising input costs. The prices have been increased in all markets where the company has a presence. Mother Dairy sells around 35 lakh litre of milk per day in Delhi-NCR market through its own outlets, general trade and e-commerce platforms. It also has presence in other states including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Bihar. Mother Dairy argued that it was compelled to increase milk prices for consumers because of the rise in procurement costs of milk from dairy farmers. "This price revision has been necessitated to address the significant increase in procurement costs, which have gone up by Rs 4-5 per litre over the past few months," a Mother Dairy official said on late Tuesday. The surge in procurement costs is mainly due to early onset of summer and heatwave conditions, the official said. This revision represents only a partial pass-through of the increased costs, aiming to equitably serve the interests of both farmers and consumers, the official added. Mother Dairy passes on 70-80 per cent of its retail prices to dairy farmers. In Delhi-NCR, the prices of toned milk (bulk vended) have increased to Rs 56 per litre from Rs 54 per litre earlier. Rates of full-cream milk (pouched) and toned milk (pouched) have been increased by Rs 1 per litre to Rs 69 per litre and Rs 57 per litre. Double-toned milk has become costlier by Rs 2 per litre to Rs 51 per litre. The prices of cow milk has been increased to Rs 59 per litre from Rs 57 per litre. In small packs of 500 ml, Mother Dairy has increased prices by Rs 1 per litre for full-cream, toned, double-toned and cow milk. Half litre full-cream milk will cost Rs 35, toned milk Rs 29, double-toned Rs 26 and cow milk Rs 30. Mother Dairy has 9 company-owned dairy processing plants with a total capacity of more than 50 lakh litre per day. It manufactures, markets and sells milk and milk products including cultured products, ice creams, paneer, ghee, etc. under the 'Mother Dairy' brand. The company also has a diversified portfolio with products in edible oils under the 'Dhara' brand and fresh fruits & vegetables, frozen vegetables & snacks, unpolished pulses, pulps & concentrates, etc. under the 'Safal' brand.>

Greater Noida: Yeida allots plots to Mother Dairy in Sect 18, 20
GREATER NOIDA: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) on Monday said it has allotted 21 plots of 100 square metre (sqm) each to Mother Dairy for setting up milk booths across various blocks of Greater Noida's Sectors 18 and 20 in the region. The move aims to improve access to dairy products for residents in the newly developed sectors. 'We will allot 27 plots to Mother Dairy in the coming days to further expand its retail network. We had launched an open-ended scheme of 21 plots for milk and vegetable booths in the first phase in Sectors 18 and 20 in March last year,' said Yeida chief executive officer Arun Vir Singh. Officials said that subsequent to the scheme launch, Mother Dairy wrote to Yeida expressing its desire to set up kiosks there. In a letter to Yeida in April, a senior Mother Dairy official said that the company would build the kiosks at its own cost, as per the design approved by the Delhi Urban Art Commission. The official also sought land near residential colonies having 1,500–3,500 flats in the vicinity. As per the Yeida scheme, booths were allotted directly by the authority based on an objective assessment of the applicants and presentations given by them. The Mother Dairy has been given plots on a 90-year lease at a total cost of ₹3.5 crore. Besides the milk booths, Mother Dairy has also approached Yeida with a proposal seeking 20–25 acres of land to establish a dairy processing unit in the area. Discussions are underway, and officials said the request will be evaluated after getting a formal letter. An official said that the expansion of Mother Dairy's network would ensure residents have access to quality milk and dairy products within close proximity. The initiatives are part of Yeida's broader strategy to boost basic infrastructure and services across its residential and industrial sectors, making the area more attractive for future investments and habitation. Mother Dairy manufactures, markets, and sells milk and milk products under the Mother Dairy brand, Dhara range of edible oils, and Safal range of fresh as well as processed fruits and vegetables at the national level through its sales and distribution networks.
