Cooler temperatures invade northern Utah, with tropical downpours across the south
SALT LAKE CITY () — Happy Monday, Utah! It's a good bit cooler across the Beehive state today, with temperatures about 15-20 degrees cooler in some spots.
We're looking at skies becoming sunny across northern Utah Monday afternoon, with clouds hanging tough across southern Utah. A remnant tropical low will spin moisture into southeast Utah, bringing widespread downpours and the slight potential for some flash flooding in some locations. Highs will be in the 70s for most locations, with 80s possible across southern Utah.
Drier air will move into Utah Tuesday, leading to mostly sunny to partly sunny skies. Highs will be in the mid-70s along the Wasatch Front, with highs in the 90s for SW Utah.
Another low-pressure system will move across southern Utah on Wednesday, bringing more heavy rain potential along and south of I-70. Highs will drop back into the 80s for SW Utah and 70s for the Wasatch Front.
A big ridge of high pressure will begin to build back across Utah later this week. This will usher in drier air and much warmer weather once again across the Beehive State just in time for the upcoming weekend.
