Shaker Heights library, high school closed after shooting
SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) -The main library in Shaker Heights will be closed Wednesday. Classes are also canceled for students at Shaker Heights High School and the Innovative Center for Personalized Learning, located less than a mile from the library.
The closures were announced after a shooting took place at the library Tuesday afternoon and involved past and present Shaker Heights students, according to an emergency notice from the district.

The shooting happened around 4:42 p.m. inside the library's main branch on Van Aken Boulevard. As FOX 8 previously reported, a male was taken by ambulance to the hospital in serious condition and a person of interest was taken into custody.
The police chief said there were a number of people inside the library, including district students, at the time of the shooting. People said they hid in the bathroom and behind book stacks; anywhere they could duck for cover.
