When Sai Pallavi recalled being swept off her feet by Suriya; feeling intimidated by Fahadh Faasil: ‘You don't know if it's love or hatred'
Sai Pallavi has charmed both filmmakers and audiences with her powerful performances and flawless looks. In her years-long career, the actor has collaborated with several stars of the South Indian film industry and delivered many memorable performances. Among these films is the 2019 critically acclaimed Athiran, in which she starred opposite Fahadh Faasil. In an old interview, Sai had opened up about how she felt intimidated by the actor. Speaking to Film Companion, Sai admitted that she can't really judge what Fahadh is thinking because of his intense eyes. She said, 'I was intimidated by him because of his work. There's something about his eyes. You don't know whether it's love or hatred when he's looking at you. His expressions are subtle but speak so loudly on screen. I'm not talking about just Athiran.' While working on the film with Fahadh Faasil, Sai Pallavi, however, learned a valuable lesson from the actor. Revealing the same, she said, 'He told me that he wasn't sure of doing films and took time off in the US. He said he decided to give it another try one day. He told me that he didn't take a lot of pressure. That's when I realized that pressure can bring you down. He said 'Every film that I do is either my first or last film. Ranbir Kapoor, Yash's Ramayana receives praise from Maharashtra CM: Amazed to see quality, it will be best in the globe
Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is all set to entertain audiences with his upcoming film Ramayana. The movie, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in lead roles, has already generated significant hype. Now, a video of Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has surfaced online, in which he can be seen praising the quality of the production. (Also Read: Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi's first look from Ramayana leaked in new pics from set; check them out) During the Waves Summit 2025, currently taking place in Mumbai, the Maharashtra CM spoke to writer-producer Namit Malhotra and said, "I think, as you rightly said, we are the world's oldest storytellers. Our art, drama, and music are very old, and we only wanted to couple it with the latest technology — and I think that's what you are doing. So, yesterday, when I visited your pavilion with the Prime Minister, I was amazed to see the quality of Ramayana that you are creating. I think this is the way we need to tell our stories to the new generation, and I believe what you are setting up will be the best in the globe.' Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana boasts an ensemble cast, including Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, and Yash as Ravana. The film also stars Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, and Lara Dutta in pivotal roles. It is set to release in two parts, with the first part scheduled for Diwali 2026 and the second part in 2027. The film's producer, Namit Malhotra, told Hindustan Times that the aim of Ramayana is to bring Indian storytelling to a global platform. 'I'm keen to not just make India proud but also excite the world about Indian storytelling and really celebrate global cinema together. It's not like we don't enjoy Hollywood films. Pallavi doesn't apply make-up, and she endorses her vision with pride, winning hearts simply with her acting prowess and gracious demeanour. Sai Pallavi on being confident in her skin In a 2023 interview with Film Companion, Pallavi was asked about her confidence to do films without make-up in a world full of insecurities and Instagram filters. Pallavi humorously stated, 'For 'Premam' and the films after that, I did put on make-up during the photoshoots that we have before [shoot], test shoots that we have before we start shooting. Most of the directors you know want to try, 'let's see how she looks with lenses and with make-up.' Then they have me take it off, and they say, 'No, we like the way you are. So just come and you emote.' She continued that she completely understands the labour that goes behind putting on makeup, and if a person feels confident after that, it's their choice. However, when it comes to her the actress smiled and said that she feels confident in the way she is. 'If a character is well written, there's no need for make-up' Furthermore, Pallavi prudently stated that she realised that no one needs a different attire or hairdo in the cinema. While it does help, a well-written character is enough to show the different shades of an actor. 'If you look different from film to film, but you have pretty much the same character traits, I don't know if the difference is loud. But if your character is well-written, then you look different in every film, and you have a lot of opportunities to bring out different emotions, which makes you look like a different person,' Pallavi stated. Sai Pallavi's Bollywood debut On the professional front, Sai Pallavi is set to make her Bollywood debut with Nitesh Tiwari's mythological drama 'Ramayana,' which will be releasing in November 2026.
