MUSCAT, JAN 26 Al Bashayer secured an important victory over Nizwa with a score of 71-50, topping the standings in the final rounds of the 2024-2025 Oman Basketball League with 8 points, while Nizwa remained at 5 points. In the second match, Seeb defeated Ahli Sidab 77-50, raising their points tally to 7, while Ahli Sidab stayed at 4 points. The matches were played at the secondary hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher. In the first match, Al Bashayer earned a well-deserved victory over Nizwa, dominating three quarters of the game. Despite Nizwa's strong start in the first quarter, their performance in the remaining quarters fell short, allowing Al Bashayer to secure the win. The triumph was attributed to Al Bashayer's focused players, including standout performances from Said al Saadi, Hadeed Bait Bakhit, Ahmed al Halhali, Slavine Kopkovic, and Osama al Riyami. On the other hand, Nizwa's standout players included Ajayi Tonyan and Qasim al Qasimi. Nizwa started the game strong, leading the first quarter 12-11. However, Al Bashayer quickly regained control and showcased superior offensive and defensive tactics in the second quarter, scoring 15 points to Nizwa's 8, ending the first half with a 26-20 lead. The third quarter saw heightened competition, with both teams scoring more points compared to the first half. Al Bashayer extended their lead by scoring 24 points to Nizwa's 17, concluding the quarter with a 50-37 advantage. In the final quarter, Al Bashayer maintained their offensive dominance, adding 21 points to Nizwa's 13, finishing the game with a 71-50 victory. An international refereeing team officiated the game, including Ahmed Darwish al Balushi as the lead referee, Thani al Khalasi as the second referee, and Mazin al Hilali as the third referee. The table officials were Munira al Numani, Musa al Siyabi, and Fatima al Harthiy, under the supervision of international technical observer Eng Younis al Zadjali. Ahli Sidab match In the second match, Seeb claimed a decisive victory over Ahli Sidab with a score of 77-50. The game began with Ahli Sidab displaying strength, taking the lead in the first quarter, but Seeb quickly adjusted and dominated the rest of the match. Seeb's victory was driven by standout performances from Kelly Jordan, Rashid al Zuhaibi, Romeo Wilfred, Muawiya al Harthy, and Mazin al Hadidi. For Ahli Sidab, notable players included Gilly Key, Adel al Balushi, and Khalid al Hashli. Ahli Sidab led the first quarter with 17 points to Seeb's 16. However, the second quarter saw a shift in momentum as Seeb improved their defence and offence, scoring 13 points to Ahli Sidab's 6, ending the first half with a 29-23 lead. In the third quarter, Seeb extended their lead by scoring 25 points to Ahli Sidab's 19, making it 54-42. The final quarter saw Seeb in complete control, adding 23 points to Ahli Sidab's 8, securing a dominant 77-50 victory. The match was officiated by a team of referees led by international referee Issam al Siyabi, with Rashid al Mushaifri as the second referee and Ali al Salmani as the third referee. The table officials were Maryam al Zadjali, Yaqoub al Nadabi, and Hafidh Awlad Ahmed, under the supervision of international technical observer Younis al Zadjali.
