ALBAWABA- An explosion rocked the office of a government-linked Peace Committee near Wana Bazaar in South Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, on Sunday, killing at least 10 people and injuring more than 17, according to local officials.
The blast targeted the office of Peace Committee Chairman Saif-ur-Rehman, who was among the casualties. Initial reports suggest the explosion caused significant devastation in the area, with fears the death toll may rise as several of the injured remain in critical condition.

The incident comes just two days after Pakistani security forces launched a major operation against militant groups in North Waziristan.
Officials reported killing at least 61 insurgents in Hassan Khel, with nine more militants eliminated across the border in Afghanistan.
Authorities noted that seven bodies were so badly burned they were unrecognizable. The total militant death toll stands at 70.
Security sources confirmed the insurgents were targeted near former Pakistan Taliban strongholds close to the Afghan frontier. The attacks underscore escalating tensions along the volatile Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Meanwhile, the situation remains tense elsewhere, as Pakistan and India exchanged fire across the Line of Control (LoC) following a deadly attack in Kashmir, further heightening regional instability.
