Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Montreal's Ville-Marie borough
A 57-year-old man is in the hospital after he was struck by a vehicle crossing the street in the Saint-Marie neighbourhood of Montreal. Montreal police (SPVM) said that several 911 calls at around 6:15 a.m. reported the accident on Notre-Dame Street East near Frontenac Street. 'When police arrived on the scene they located an unconscious man on the scene with serious injuries,' said SPVM spokesperson Veronique Dubuc. Dubuc said the victim regained consciousness and was rushed to the hospital. According to information obtained on the scene, police say the victim was struck while crossing the aqueduct between Frontenac and Alphonse D. Roy Street. The driver, a 29-year-old man, was treated for shock on the scene. Collision experts are on the scene to determine the exact causes and circumstances that led to the collision.
