Armed man on the run after gunfire in regional Qld town
Police are hunting for a man believed to be armed following reports of gunfire in the early hours of Wednesday morning in the regional Queensland town of Kingaroy. Authorities responded just before 4am after shots were reportedly fired from a property on Arthur St. As a precaution, Saint Mary's Catholic College has been closed and access to Kingaroy Hospital has been restricted. Nearby businesses have also locked down as the police operation unfolds. Saint Mary's Catholic College notified parents that the school would remain closed while the police operation unfolded. 'Our college, businesses and facilities in the area have been advised to close as police respond to the incident,' the school said in a social media post. Police are also urging people to avoid the area. At 6.15am, the public was informed that hospital access would remain 'restricted until further notice due to the incident'. Police have released a description of a 25-year-old man they believe may be involved. He is described as being about 175cm tall, of slim build, caucasian, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is thought to be travelling in a black Suzuki Swift with false number plates reading 551-GE9.

Police describe the man as being about 175 centimetres tall, slim build, Caucasian with brown hair and brown eyes.
