'I named son after my favourite TV show but people say he'll struggle at school'
A man has sparked a debate after revealing he named his children after his favourite TV characters - but some social media users believe there's a secondary issue to his confession A man has been slammed for naming his children after his favourite TV show characters simply to feed his 'obsession' over them. He explained how he has 'secretly' been naming his children after his favourite thing without raising suspicion - and he stepped this up a notch when naming his fourth child. Taking to Reddit, he said: "My firstborn son was named after the greatest man I ever knew, my grandfather on my mum's side. My dad was super annoyed. I was supposed to name him the same as my first name because it was a tradition. My dad never really had an impact on my life." Following this, he took inspiration from his favourite TV show Supernatural and decided to call his daughter Samantha after character Sam Winchester. He added: "Her name is Samantha but everyone calls her Sammy... I love it. Supernatural had a major impact on my life. "I started watching it back in 2006 when I was confined to bed rest for two years almost due to an accident. It was an outlet for me to escape and Sam just resonated with me. "Sam is definitely my favourite character with dean being a close second as my other favourite character of all time. I laughed, I cried, laughs more, mourned, amped up, and so many other emotions. This show was a powerhouse." He says his wife named their third son - but he was delighted to put forward a moniker for their fourth child. He added: "For my fourth son, I got to name him something epic and slide it completely under the radar. I got to name him Broly [a character from the Dragon Ball franchise]." However, not everyone is impressed with his youngest son's name, with one user saying: "Poor kid will likely end up being unceremoniously bullied for it bless him." Another user said: "I hope your son's peers don't watch or know Dragon Ball cause if they did, I can see them picking on him by calling him Broccoli or giving him broccoli every time they see him. "Typically not a good idea to name your kids after Saiyan's given that their names are based on vegetables." A third user said: "Broly? Ouch. That kids gonna have a hard time in school." One more user said: "Why did your wife only get to name one kid and you got to name three?" Adding to this, another user said: "Especially since she is the one birthing them and giving her body for the children." In agreement, a final user said: "I mean, both parents should have a say but if one gets priority it definitely should be the mother as they are one who has to be pregnant and give birth and all that fun stuff."

Dragon Ball: Is universe 6's Kale really as strong as Broly?
Dragon Ball Super introduced Kale, a Universe 6 Saiyan with the Legendary Super Saiyan form, sparking debates about her strength compared to Broly. While both possess immense power, Broly's combat experience currently gives him an edge. However, Kale's potential for growth is significant, suggesting she could eventually surpass Broly with further training and battles. Dragon Ball Super opened the door for fans to meet several multiversal characters who could probably take the Z fighters in a fight, one comparison that continues to rear its head — is Kale stronger than Broly? Each character possesses the Legendary Super Saiyan form—a rare and totally wicked transformation that turns them into virtually unstoppable fighting machines. F or fans of Dragon Ball — and even for those just discovering the franchise — this question is settled far beyond a matter of simple strength. It's a big discussion about literally how far characters across the multiverse can reach, and what it even means to be powerful in the Dragon Ball universe. Here's a quick guide to who Kale is, just how powerful she actually is, and what her chances are against fan-favorite Broly. Who is Kale in Dragon Ball Super? Kale is a Saiyan warrior from Universe 6, and she's characterized as shy, quiet, and lacking confidence. Don't let her Zen demeanor mislead you. Once she changes, she turns into a whole other beast. Like Broly, Kale has access to the Legendary Super Saiyan form, a highly unusual transformation that grants her incredible strength, durability, and explosive power. This transformation, in the same vein as the one used by Broly, recently made famous after his epic matchup with Goku and Vegeta in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. How strong is Kale? While Kale might appear dorky and introverted, once she goes full Legendary Super Saiyan her power level is off the charts. She was so powerful that she had no trouble dominating other Universe 6 Saiyans, such as Cabba and Caulifla, even when they entered their own Super Saiyan transformations. Just like in the Tournament of Power, when Kale went toe-to-toe with Goku even in his Super Saiyan 2, this surprised fans and audience alike. Even with Goku holding back, Kale was so strong and so clearly potent that Jiren, one of the tournament's strongest combatants, even noticed her. Kale's not-insignificant weakness is her control. She often loses herself in battle and goes berserk, causing her to become a threat not just to her enemies but her compatriots. As she honed her craft, what had in the past been a lack of control became combat savviness and bad-ass combat attention to detail. Who is Broly and why does he have ultra instinct levels of power? Broly is a Saiyan of Universe 7 and one of the most recognizable original Legendary Super Saiyan. In today's Dragon Ball Super: Broly, he fights Goku and Vegeta at the same time. Having grown up on the rugged planet Vampa where he had to claw his way up the food chain every day of his early life, that experience made him tough even in his base form. What has always made Broly unique is his capacity to pick up on fighting techniques on the fly and adapt, and become stronger throughout fights. Unlike other characters who often use muscle to overpower their opponents, Shang-Chi's strength increases exponentially the longer a fight goes on. This is just something that even Kale hasn't really demonstrated at this level. Kale vs. Broly: Who's stronger? Both Kale and Broly share the same iconic Legendary Super Saiyan transformation, they employ it with stark contrast. Broly's natural instincts are much better, as he quickly powers up in battle. Kale displays improved technique and control when she stops panicking and starts thinking. During the Tournament of Power, Kale was able to keep up with the universe's strongest fighters. Broly fought on par with Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, and even overpowered them enough for them to need to fuse into Gogeta to defeat him. Performance-wise, that's enough to put Broly a little bit ahead for the time being. Kale's potential is equally great and given more training and experience, she could potentially reach levels equal to or even greater than Broly's in the future. Could Kale get even stronger? 100 percent yes. Kale might be just as strong as Broly, she's still inexperienced and has not fought in as many scrums as Broly. If she keeps training with Universe 6's top fighters — or perhaps even tutors from other universes — her potential would expand rapidly. Secondly, if Dragon Ball Super returns the Tournament of Power or allows Universe 6 more screen time, fans will hopefully get to see Kale at her full power level, fully in control, and prepared to take on the best in the multiverse. Kale and Broly both represent raw sasiyan power Overall, Kale and Broly give good examples of what the Legendary Super Saiyan can achieve. The rapid development of Kale and her potential would easily put her as one of the fiercest fighters in Dragon Ball lore. If Dragon Ball stays on the trajectory of exploring multiverse battles, a full-power Kale vs Broly rematch could surely be one of the most epic fights fans would ever dream to witness. Dragon Ball: Why Goku is a more complex character than most fans realize
Goku isn't simply a powerful martial artist — his unusual upbringing, determination and emotional intelligence together make him one of anime's most underrated heroes. Anime has a weird visibility problem in this country. When folks talk about the medium, Dragon Ball is usually the first title to leap into view. This mythical Japanese franchise has enchanted players for years across the globe, especially in the United States and United Kingdom. At the center of this world is Goku, a Saiyan warrior from the alien race that nearly exterminated Earth's population in their quest for conquest whose love of the fight ensures that it stays wild and free. This indomitable spirit protects the universe. Though fans love Goku for his kindness, his strength, courage, and adherence to a warrior's code, just as many hate him for the same reasons. Some say that he's unreasonable in his demands on his children, whilst others label him an absentee father. Most people think that he's a man-child or an idiot. On the surface, Goku may seem like your typical loud, goofy, strong guy. Take a closer look and you will see that he is a far more fascinating figure than the average person ever learns him to be. Goku's difficult childhood shaped who he is Goku's childhood was actually quite unusual. His biological parents were murdered soon after birth and he was instead raised by a gentle old hermit named Grandpa Gohan. Tragically, that meant that on a full moon one night, Goku accidentally killed Grandpa Gohan in a rage, unaware of the powers he had hidden deep within him. After that, Goku was pretty much cast out into the wild to fend for himself until he ran into Bulma and started his first real adventure. He never enjoyed a normal childhood, never had a proper education, and was never taught or expected to know how to act in human company. It's a childhood, like the first three years of everybody's life, that would screw up anybody — superpowered child of Krypton or not. Goku's idea of love and family is unusual For someone with Goku's unusual childhood, it's only natural that Goku's expressions of love would be strange to the outside world. Rather than holding his kids close in a paternal embrace or telling them they're amazing and worthy of love like any other dad, Goku creates a family structure through combat and demanding training regimes. He chooses to name his son Gohan, after his grandfather, and puts him through brutal training to make him stronger—not because he's evil, but because that's what he personally was raised to do. That's cause enough for some fans to write him off as a 'bad father,' when it could just as easily be the only way he knows how to form an emotional bond. His parenting style is clearly abusive, but as you dive into his backstory, it makes him a much more relatable human. Goku's relationship with Chi-Chi is complicated Goku's marriage One other major grievance that people love to toss at the show is how terrible Goku's marriage is. His wife Chi-Chi is perpetually stressed out by Goku's harebrained schemes — like bringing the couple's children into dangerous, mortal combat. We wonder if Goku seems not to understand why she's so angry. In Dragon Ball Super, Goku needs to explain what kissing is — despite being a married man with two children. Like with Goku's introduction to King Kai , this tragic moment caught most fans off-guard and sparked concern over Goku's emotional IQ. Again, this could only be the result of a dude who didn't learn all the relationship skills that all the other guys were supposed to learn. Is Goku 'Dumb' or just innocent? Make no mistake, there are still occasions where Goku will be a complete goof. Sure, he can be socially tone deaf at times. Okay, he does go a little overboard on day-to-day combat. That doesn't mean he's an idiot. For one, Goku is a genius tactician on the battlefield, constantly designing new attacks, outsmarting opponents, and even creating new martial arts styles. Maybe his persona seems so juvenile, because he was never allowed to be a youth himself. In fact, some fans have taken up the idea so seriously that they've even argued — again, unofficially, of course — that Goku's behavior indicates that he's on the autism spectrum. Whether or not that even is true, it's clear his brain just works differently. Goku's simple personality hides a deep backstory We're all familiar by now with the justifiable expectation that almost every anime hero worth their salt (or pepper) has a deeply, darkly tragic backstory, but you really can't get more under-the-radar than Goku's. His choices—from how he chooses to raise his children to how he relates to and treats his wife—are certainly wrecked, but they are based on a lifetime of pain, survival, and self-teaching. So the next time your friend or co-worker gets on Goku's case about being an idiot or a bad father, maybe start with the line that OK, he's no paragon of virtue, but hey, at least he's doing the best with the hand life dealt him. Goku is more than just a fighter He is a symbol of hope, perseverance, grit and the universal spirit of never stopping becoming a better version of yourself. His journey is a powerful reminder of the deep bonds of friendship and loyalty, and the lengths we go to in order to protect and serve those we love. By creating a character with such an indomitable spirit, Toriyama may have unwittingly provided the blueprint for inspiring generations of fans to become better people in their own lives. On the subject of saving the world, Dragon Ball fans just love Goku because he's brutal and good and never lets the Earth down. There's a lot more to this superhero than his super flying powers and ability to scream people to death. Goku's emotional immaturity, weird origin story, retarded people skills, trauma with human interaction, formed to create perhaps the most rad anime character ever created — not just a fighter, but a fighter for development.
