Sharjah Children organises 'Fantasy World'

Blending learning and play The programme targets 480 children and offers an integrated experience that blends learning and play through a series of carefully designed activities to foster imagination and develop storytelling, communication, and teamwork skills. The programme's first activities kicked off with a two-day workshop for 30 boys and girls at the Halwan Children Centre. Children were divided into groups led by members of Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah and Sharjah Youth, in a practical model that reflects the spirit of integration and cooperation between the Rubu' Qarn institutions. Imaginary animals The first day's activities included an "Icebreaker" workshop, where children created imaginary animals using various parts, which contributed to developing their coordination and teamwork skills. This was followed by a "Designing an Imaginary World" workshop, where children created maps of imaginary worlds and imagined heroes, legends, and distinctive characters. The day concluded with an "Interactive Storytelling" workshop, which unleashed their imaginations by crafting story plots using dramatic tools such as hats and magic wands, in a creative experience. Treasure hunt The second day was characterised by adventure and excitement, with the "Treasure Hunt" activity, through which children moved between different stations to solve puzzles and collect evidence, which enhanced their logical thinking and cooperation skills. Participants also experienced 'Character Building', where participants designed characters inspired by their stories and dressed in costumes that embodied their unique features. The programme concluded with a theatrical performance on the Fantasy Stage. Children performed theatrical scenes that embodied the stories they had woven, capping off a creative conclusion. Developing children's imagination and creativity It's worth noting that the Fantasy World programme is part of Sharjah Children's commitment to developing children's imagination and creativity, and enhancing their life skills through fun and interactive methods. Given the overwhelming response to the programme, it will be implemented as part of the upcoming summer camp, encompassing 12 children's centres.
