In a symbolic gesture following India's Operation Sindoor to avenge the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, a historic T-55 tank was worshipped in Ayodhya on Wednesday.
Jagatguru Paramhans Acharya, the Peethadheeshwar of Tapasvi Cantonment, performed a puja and offered flowers on the tank displayed at Saket Degree College.
This historic tank, known as the T-55 Bheem and built in Russia, played a crucial role in India's victories during the 1965 and 1971 wars against Pakistan.
The tank, which is 9 metres long, 4 metres wide, and weighs 40 tonnes, has been installed at the main gate of Saket Degree College. Its installation was made possible after two years of correspondence between the college administration and the Indian Army Headquarters. The tank is meant to serve as a symbol of inspiration for young people, encouraging them to contribute to national security.
In celebration of Operation Sindoor, saints from Ayodhya gathered at the site to offer prayers and flowers.
Jagatguru Paramhans Acharya stated that they had worshipped the T-55 tank as a mark of gratitude and pride. He added that the saints were extremely pleased with the Army's strong reply to Pakistan, and the puja was performed in honour of that sentiment.
