Motorcyclist killed after being hit by speeding tipper in Sakkardara
1 2 Nagpur: A 55-year-old motorcyclist died after being struck by a speeding tipper truck near Sakkardara Bridge around 10.00 pm on Thursday. The heavy vehicle, reportedly driven in a reckless and dangerous manner, rammed into the two-wheeler, leaving the rider critically injured. He was immediately rushed to the govt Medical Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The deceased was identified as Pralhad Namdevrao Munde, a resident of Tribal Society, Telephone Nagar, Dighori. Following the tragic incident, his son, Mahesh Pralhad Munde (25), filed a complaint at the Sakkardara police station. The tipper truck was driven by Prakash Maroti (51), a resident of Pachgaon in Umred tehsil, Nagpur district. Police say Maroti was operating the vehicle in a careless and high-speed manner, leading to the fatal collision. Based on the complaint, Sakkardara Police booked the driver under Section 281 (rash and negligent driving), Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (causing death by negligence), and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act (dangerous driving). Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.

Man booked for rape, fraud after social media connection turns criminal
Nagpur: A 34-year-old man from Narkhed was booked for rape and cheating after allegedly taking money from a woman he met on social media and later assaulting her. The accused, identified as Umesh Parihar, befriended the complainant, a resident of Hudkeshwar, between March 8 and March 18. As per police, the accused exploited the complainant's trust by claiming his mother was seriously ill. He allegedly obtained a total of Rs1.4 lakh from her in cash and online transfers. The woman alleged Parihar invited her to Hudkeshwar, forcibly made her sit in his vehicle, and threatened to defame her. He then drove her to a hotel within the limits of Sakkardara police station, where he allegedly forced himself on her. When the woman later demanded her money back, the accused refused and repeated his threats. The survivor lodged a complaint with the Sakkardara Police, who registered a case under charges related to sexual assault and criminal intimidation.
