The actor visited Shree Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga in Deoghar, Jharkhand, to seek blessings during what appears to be a challenging time for the much-anticipated mythological drama. Sharing a moment from his spiritual visit on X (formerly Twitter), Vishnu posted a photo collage with the words: 'Visited Shree Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga – a divine moment at one of Shiva's holiest abodes. Har Har Mahadev." He captioned the post with: #HarHarMahadev #Kannappa The temple visit comes at a time when Kannappa has been hit by a serious setback. A hard disk containing key footage of the film has reportedly gone missing in Hyderabad. As per a report by the incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Film Nagar Police Station. The drive was sent by Mumbai-based VFX studio Hive Studios to the production house, Twenty Four Frames Factory Private Limited, via DTDC courier. According to delivery records, the parcel reached the Filmnagar office on Sunday, May 25. A staff member named Raghu received it and handed it to a woman named Charitha, who has allegedly been missing since then. Reddy Vijaykumar of Twenty Four Frames Factory has filed a complaint, claiming Charitha disappeared with the intention of damaging the project. The lost drive reportedly contains unreleased, confidential, and highly sensitive material from Kannappa. In his police statement, Reddy said the incident has caused a serious disruption to their film project. He warned that the production could suffer irreparable financial loss if the content were leaked or deleted, and urged authorities to recover the hard disk as soon as possible. Directed as a mythological epic, Kannappa follows the story of a legendary devotee of Lord Shiva. The film was initially set for an April 25 release but is now scheduled to hit screens on June 27. The ensemble cast features Vishnu Manchu, Mohanlal, Prabhas, and Kajal Aggarwal, with Akshay Kumar marking his Telugu film debut. The Kannappa team — including Vishnu, Mohan Babu, Prabhu Deva, and executive producer Vinay Maheshwari — also met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently and shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the film's journey. Just a month ahead of its release, a hard disk containing valuable footage from the Vishnu Manchu-starrer Kannappa was reportedly stolen. As per a report by the incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Film Nagar Police Station in Hyderabad. According to DTDC delivery records, the parcel reached the office on Sunday (May 25). A staff member, Raghu, handed the courier to a woman named Charitha. However, Charitha has been absconding since she took the hard disk. Reddy Vijaykumar of Twenty Four Frames Factory Private Limited has filed a complaint with the Film Nagar Police, alleging that Charitha disappeared with the intention of damaging the project. Reddy said that this incident has caused a serious disruption to their film project. Reportedly, the hard disk contains unreleased, confidential and highly sensitive data related to Kannappa. Reddy stated in the complaint that his company would suffer irreparable financial loss if this content were leaked or deleted. He requested that the hard disk be recovered and handed over to him immediately. Amid this unfortunate incident, Vishnu visited a temple in Jharkhand's Deoghar. The team of Kannappa, including Vishnu, actor-producer Mohan Babu, Prabhu Deva, and executive producer Vinay Maheshwari, met Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath recently and showed a glimpse of the film's making to him.
