As Ahaan Panday's Saiyaara co-star Aneet Padda takes spotlight, here's her unmissable shows and movies to watch before big screen debut

Ahaan Panday, cousin of actress Ananya Panday, is gearing up for his big-screen debut in Yash Raj Films' upcoming project Saiyaara. The film, slated for release on July 18, 2025, marks the first-ever collaboration between acclaimed director Mohit Suri and YRF. Adding to the excitement, Saiyaara will introduce a brand-new on-screen duo, Ahaan Panday and newcomer Aneet Padda. In this piece, we'll take a closer look at Aneet Padda 's journey and highlight some of her past films and series you should check out before watching Saiyaara. Aneet Padda movies and shows to watch before Saiyaara Salaam Venky Salaam Venky (2022), directed by Revathi, is a poignant Hindi drama inspired by the true story of Kolavennu Venkatesh, a young man battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The film follows Venky (Vishal Jethwa), who, despite his terminal illness, wishes to donate his organs through euthanasia, a procedure illegal in India. His mother, Sujata (Kajol), supports his decision, leading to a legal battle that challenges societal norms and laws. Aneet Padda portrays Nandini, Venky's visually impaired childhood friend and love interest, whose bond with him adds emotional depth to the narrative. The ensemble cast includes Rajeev Khandelwal as Dr. Shekhar Tripathi, Rahul Bose as lawyer Parvez Alam, Priyamani as public prosecutor Nanda Kumar, Aahana Kumra as journalist Sanjana, and Prakash Raj as Judge Anupam Bhatnagar. Salaam Venky is a heartfelt exploration of life, love, and the right to die with dignity. Big Girls Don't Cry In the Amazon Prime Video series Big Girls Don't Cry, Aneet Padda portrays Roohi Ahuja, a vibrant and resourceful student at Vandana Valley Girls' School. Roohi often uses humor and charm to mask the emotional turmoil stemming from her parents' troubled marriage. Her close friendship with Jayshree "JC" Chhetri (played by Tenzin Lhakyila) is central to the narrative, especially as both girls navigate a complex love triangle involving a student from a neighboring boys' school. The series delves into the lives of several students, including Kavya Yadav (Vidushi), a scholarship student striving to fit in; Leah Ludo Joseph (Avantika Vandanapu), a basketball captain grappling with her sexual identity. Noor Hassan (Afrah Sayed), an ambitious student facing cultural challenges; Anandita Pluggy Rawat (Dalai), an aspiring writer; and Dia Malik (Akshita Sood), a rebellious poet. Set against the backdrop of an elite boarding school, the show explores themes of friendship, identity, and adolescence. Apart from that, Aneet Padda was also seen in several advertisements. Very few people know that Aneet is also a singer and a songwriter, and she lent her voice to a few songs in Big Girls Don't Cry. Saiyaara teaser: Newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda star in a signature Mohit Suri violent love story. Watch

Yash Raj Films have just released Saiyaara teaser that introduces two newcomers to the industry and the audiences. Although Aneet Padda has already featured in the OTT film Salaam Venky, it will be Ahaan Panday's first visit to the big dance. Nephew of industry veteran Chunky Panday and brother of the new generation star Ananya Panday, the newcomer will be aiming to hit the ground running and build upon his family's position in Bollywood. The film has been directed by Mohit Suri, and while the first look can be deceiving, it has the same vibe as one of his earlier films, Aashiqui 2. The teaser opens up with piano playing in the background and Padda's character reciting a poem, definitely not something new for a Yash Raj Studios film. We get a glimpse into the lives and personalities of our main characters, as Ahaan rides through the city on a bike while smoking a cigarette, and Padda just seems to be in awe of him in other frames. Our male protagonist is introduced with shirtless scenes and intense guitar playing. ALSO READ: Ananya Panday's cousin Ahaan was transported to hospital in a thermocol box after being born 42 days premature: 'It's a filmy story' Padda continues her recitation in the background, as several continuous shots give a sneak peek into what the entire movie is going to be about: music, riding a bike, a dollop of violence and a pinch of actual story. What's concerning is that a film, which seems to have music in an integral position, has almost 8 people working on the album, which opens up a very real possibility of 'too many chefs'. The teaser ends with a shot of Padda's character screaming. Ahaan's sister Ananya seems to have found a sense of direction in the industry, choosing smart roles for herself and delivering on them. Even she took her time to settle in, and her debut in Student of the Year 2 was definitely not the best start. She has since done roles in films like Kho Gaye Hum Kahan (2023) and Kesari Chapter 2 (2025), for which she received appreciation. Backed by Aditya Chopra and Akshaye Widhani, the film is set to release on July 18.

Ajay Devgn opens up on daughter Nysa's Bollywood aspirations: 'She's not interested in any of this'

While many star kids have recently made their acting debut in Bollywood, couple Ajay Devgn and Kajol's daughter Nysa has some other plans at the moment. (Also read: Kajol wishes daughter Nysa Devgn on birthday, says she has 'much to learn from you') During the trailer launch of Kajol's film Maa in Mumbai, Ajay Devgn was asked whether he considered casting his daughter, Nysa, in the "mythological horror". Responding to the query, Ajay said, "At the moment, she is not interested in this kind of work." The trailer launch saw Ajay and Kajol candidly answering questions from the media. Kajol also talked about how the theme of motherhood in Maa echoed with her. "I spoke about this during Salaam Venky as any parent's worst nightmare (to lose their child). I normally tend not to let my feelings affect my shot, but somewhere down the line, subconsciously, emotions come easier. Tears fall more easily. Because you feel so connected to it, and it's so real," she said. Kajol's Maa is all set to be released in theatres on June 27. It also stars Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, and Kherin Sharma. Vishal Furia, who earlier directed Chhorii, has helmed it. On comparisons with the Chhorii franchise, Vishal said, 'The only similarity is that both are stories of mothers. But we're talking about Maa Kali in this film, who is a much bigger entity. This world is much, much bigger. It's a cinematic experience. You can't watch it on OTT. You'll have to come and watch it in theatres.'
