Versatile 6-foot-7 forward joins YSU men's basketball program
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown State men's basketball has added 6-foot-7 forward Vladimer Salaridze through the transfer portal, the team announced officially on Wednesday.
Salaridze spent the past season at UT Martin after spending two seasons at UC Riverside to begin his career.
During 32 games, Salaridze averaged 10.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game while starting 24 of those contests. He also shot 36% from three-point range and 41.5% from the field.
At UC Riverside, he appeared in 67 total games across two seasons and averaged 4 PPG in an average of 13 minutes played per game.
The Tbilisi, Georiga native has also represented his home country on the international level during the 2022 FIBA U20 Championship. He posted an a stat line of 11.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.9 assists over seven games.
Salaridze joins former Houston Christian guard Bryson Dawkins and forward Rich Rolf from Charlotte as transfer portal additions for head coach Ethan Faulkner and the Penguins.
