Ai Everything Global: Countries urged to rapidly adopt AI to stay ahead of cyber threats

The AI Everything Global 2025 showcase, now ongoing, brings together global innovators to demonstrate the latest AI breakthroughs and industry-leading use cases. Dubai, UAE – At the inaugural Ai Everything Summit held yesterday, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity at UAE Government, delivered a powerful call to action. He emphasised that nations, governments, and organisations must adopt AI technologies sooner rather than later in order to stay ahead of rapidly evolving cyber-attacks. The Summit took place at the iconic Abu Dhabi's St. Regis, Saadiyat Island Resort, serving as the venue for the world's largest public-private AI gathering, Ai Everything Global 2025. It brought together global tech leaders, industry professionals, and investors, making the event the focal point for discussions on reshaping the future AI-powered economy. Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) in affiliation with GITEX GLOBAL, the world's largest tech show, this landmark event serves as a deep dive into the profound shifts AI is bringing to industries and economies. Under the theme 'Big Winds of Change. It's Ai in Everything', it provides a platform for thought leaders to explore the revolutionary advancements in AI and the recalibration of global economies driven by rapidly changing technological landscape. In front of a packed audience, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity at UAE Government was among the guest speakers during a panel discussion where he emphasised the crucial role of governments planning ahead to ensure they not only meet the demand of AI but also win the fight against cybercrime. He outlined five main pillars: governance, protection, innovation, establishing and building, and partnership – all part of the UAE's newly-announced National Cybersecurity Strategy – as essential components to promoting the growth of AI. However, he posited that engaging in conversations and forging relationships to advance the sector is even more important. He said: 'The vision of our leadership is to turn the UAE into an AI hub. Furthermore, there is a lot cybercrime happening (around the world) today which is why we need to be more proactive and build the right infrastructure to protect our digital systems through AI. It's even more important to leverage AI, as it's the future of tackling cybercrime.' Only a matter of time before AI can help decide prosecution cases The discussion also featured insights from H.E. Salem Ali Juma Al Zaabi, Head of Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Prosecution at UAE Public Prosecution, highlighting the organisation's AI strategy adopting to address crime cases. He said: 'AI saves us much time by helping us through analysis, but it does not contribute to making a decision. With that said, I believe it's not far away [that AI is making prosecution decisions]. It's now almost there. We should keep the same speed of AI going but choose where to implement and test AI in different cases of crime.' The Ai Everything Global 2025 showcase exhibition continues to feature thought-provoking debates and conversations, gathering over 500 big-tech enterprises, SMEs, and award-winning startups from more than 70 countries worldwide. The event also convenes 500 Chief AI Officers (CAIOs), 200 expert speakers, and over 150 investors with USD 70 billion in assets under management (AUM). AI Could Soon Play a Role in Judging Crimes, UAE Official Reveals

Artificial intelligence (AI) could soon be making critical decisions in the UAE's judicial system, as the country's government explores its potential for crime judgment. Salem Ali Juma Al Zaabi, Head of Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Prosecution at the UAE Public Prosecution, shared this groundbreaking development during his address at the 'AI Everything' summit in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. Al Zaabi highlighted that AI is already being tested for specific cases where the outcome is straightforward, and little to no discretion is needed. 'There are cases right now where the outcome is very clear and no discretion is needed,' he said, emphasizing that speed is crucial in the justice sector. The trial runs of AI in these types of cases are expected to increase efficiency and accelerate the judicial process. In addition to decision-making, AI is already helping the justice system by streamlining document-related tasks. Al Zaabi explained how AI aids in reading, translating, and summarizing large volumes of documents, significantly reducing the time needed for prosecution work. While AI's current use is largely as a tool to support human decision-making, Al Zaabi acknowledged the sensitive nature of criminal cases, which involve emotions and require discretion. 'AI helps with speed, but for now, it remains a tool, not the decision-maker,' he clarified. The UAE's judicial body has strict internal policies regarding AI's use, ensuring it aligns with ethical standards. AI has also proven effective in handling violations, such as during the pandemic when cameras tracked mask-wearing compliance. Al Zaabi noted that AI helped collect data, identify individuals, and determine appropriate penalties. However, he emphasized that human oversight remains a cornerstone of the system, ensuring the right decisions are made. The 'AI Everything' summit, which runs for three days, will explore how AI can drive transformation and impact across various sectors, including justice. As AI continues to evolve, it is clear that the UAE is at the forefront of integrating this technology into its legal framework, potentially changing the landscape of justice in the near future. UAE: Soon, AI could be judging crimes, analysing cases, says top official

Artificial intelligence could soon be judging crimes, according to a top UAE government official. The country's judicial body has already begun trialling a system that allows AI to decide on cases. 'There are cases right now where the outcome is very clear and no discretion is needed,' said Salem Ali Juma Al Zaabi, Head of Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Prosecution at UAE Public Prosecution. 'We have already started to implement and test using AI in these kind of crimes. In the justice sector, it is important not to act slow.' Al Zaabi was speaking at the 'AI Everything' summit that began in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. The summit, which takes place over three days, will examine the most compelling AI-powered applications driving transformation and impact across various sectors. He also said that the technology was being widely used to help deliver justice swiftly. 'In criminal cases, sometimes we have a lot of documents to read through and translate,' he said. 'AI saves us much time and helps to accelerate the ease of justice by helping us to translate, summarise and analyse these documents quickly.' Ethics Despite ongoing trials, he said that for the timebeing the role of AI was largely as a tool to deliver justice and not for decision-making. 'When you deal with crimes, there are emotions and discretion for the public prosecutor to decide,' he said. 'Right now, we do use AI in our services but we have internal policies about where we use it, how to use it, and what kind of ethics we should have if we use AI in prosecution work.' He also gave examples of how AI was used for prosecution during the pandemic and said despite all the technology, authorities keenly observe and take decisions on how to deal with violations. 'We had cameras spotting people who were not wearing masks,' he said. 'We collaborated with relevant entities to collect data and identify the person. We then considered whether the act can be considered for a fine and then the penalty was issued.'
