Iraq, Lebanon and Syria discuss prospects for cooperation and expertise exchange
Iraqi Health Minister Salih Al-Hasnawi met with his Lebanese counterpart, Rakan Nasser Al-Din, on Tuesday on the sidelines of the World Health Organization General Assembly meetings in Geneva.
The meeting included discussing prospects for health cooperation between the two brotherly countries and enhancing coordination in the health sector, according to a statement by the Ministry of Health - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The Lebanese Minister of Health appreciated "Iraq's continued support for the health sector in Lebanon," praising "the fraternal stances that embody the depth of the relationship between the two peoples."
Iraq has sent several emergency shipments of medicines and health supplies to Lebanon in recent periods, supporting the health sector during crises, especially during periods of war and the exceptional circumstances experienced by the brotherly country.
The statement indicated that the Minister of Health also met with the Syrian Minister of Health, Musab Al-Ali, on the sidelines of the 78th session of the World Health Assembly.
The meeting included discussions on ways to enhance joint health cooperation between the two brotherly countries and exchange expertise "in areas of common interest, within the framework of ongoing coordination between the Ministries of Health in Iraq and Syria."
