Jeep Junkies raised over $100,000 for P.I.N.K. of Terre Haute
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Thanks to some local jeep enthusiasts, they were able to raise funds for P.I.N.K. Of Terre Haute.
The Wabash Valley Jeep Junkies gathered Monday at the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 157 Building to present a check for $104,928 to P.I.N.K. Of Terre Haute. The funds were raised as part of the Jeep Junkies 9th annual Going Topless for P.I.N.K. Event. Also, Lee and Sally Shipley matched the funds raised, for a grand total of $204,928.
'They're fighting for their life and the last thing they need to worry about is whether they can afford a hotel stay or they can, you know, deal with something with their home,' said Board member Mike Latta. 'Maybe a roof that's leaking or things like that. And that's where P.I.N.K of Terre Haute comes in.'
The money will be used to assist families and individuals in the area that are battling breast cancer.
