A MODERN food hall in Scotland has been named one of the best places in the UK to grab a bite to eat. Located in Edinburgh, the state-of-the-art spot was named alongside other popular marketplaces in areas like Leeds, Manchester and Somerset. Introducing the ranking, The Times said the "appetite" for food halls has "boomed" in recent years thanks to the flurry of new openings across the country. These spots are typically more affordable than standard restaurants, providing a "buzzing atmosphere" and plenty of seats. Bonnie & Wild, which is located on the fourth floor of Edinburgh's St James Quarter, was the only Scottish food hall to be named among the top seven in the UK. Praising the location, The Times newspaper said the spot is a "food court for the 21st century". Described as "smart" and "sleek," the hall is said to be "teeming" with local businesses and produce. The publication added that whether you're after Hong Kong street food with a Scottish twist at Salt & Chilli Oriental, some of the "best" burgers in the UK at El Perro Negro or delicious fried chicken sandwiches from Chooks, you'll find something to enjoy. 🥪 Our tasty #soupandcaboodle pieces are made fresh to order, every day‼️ We're open 7️⃣ days a week, 9-6pm, so whether you prefer #lunch at 11am or 2pm, we'll be happy 🤗 to serve you.
