Oops! Egg delivery scrambled on icy Oklahoma highway
A semi-truck full of eggs crashed Tuesday during a winter storm that blanketed Oklahoma with ice and snow. There were only minor injuries. It's not clear where the eggs were headed, but the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the crash occurred on the Will Rogers Turnpike between Tulsa and Joplin, Missouri. The price of an egg, once a hot-button campaign topic, has remained high due to an outbreak of avian flu across the nation and increased consumer demand. These eggs appear to be Member's Mark brand found at Sam's Clubs. A dozen eggs cost more than $8 in Oklahoma City, quite a steep price in these trying times.
