Relationship success is largely dependent on intentions, and as per Sam, these habits could be the secret to a lasting relationship: A post shared by Mindset and Relationship Coach (@emotionalsam) 1. Make time for each other. If the connection isn't a priority in your relationship then it's going to disappear 2. Express your appreciation for them, everyday. Tell them what you love about them, tell them how much they mean to you. 3. Actively listen to what they say. It's so easy to be distracted in this world. Take the time to ask open-ended questions and really listen to what they say. 4. Be honest, clear and direct about things you want and need. Stop expecting them to be able to read your mind. 5. Practice forgiveness and letting go. We all make mistakes. If you hold onto your partner, nothing but resentment will grow. 6. Invest in yourself not just the relationship. Go and do things alone. Be your own person! 7. Check in with them regularly about how they feel the relationship is going. This helps you nip problems in the bud before they become big issues. 8. Be physical. Hug them when they come home and kiss them before they leave. It's a habit, and the longer you don't do it, the harder it can be to start again. 9. Laugh together. Do things that are fun! Go and be big kids again and experience that innocent joy. 10. Always be honest. If you made a mistake, be honest about it. Trust is the foundation of a relationship. Sam Hughes isn't sure how latest confidence-boosting win was split call at UFC Fight Night 254

LAS VEGAS – Sam Hughes beat Stephanie Luciano with a split decision Saturday on the preliminary card at UFC Fight Night 254 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Take a look inside the fight with Hughes, who has won five of her past seven after an 0-3 start to her UFC tenure. Result: Sam Hughes def. Stephanie Luciano via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-27) Updated records: Hughes (10-6 MMA, 5-5 UFC), Luciano (6-2-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) Key stats: Hughes outstruck Luciano 146-101 and had more than four minutes of control time from her three takedowns. "That was 100 percent the game plan – I have to be a pressure fighter. If I let her fight at range, she's longer than me. That was the wrong thing to do. The whole thing was to just get in, beat her up, lots of takedowns. I tried to get the finish in the second, but I just couldn't put her away." Sam Hughes gana por Decisión dividida en #UFCVegas104 🙌🏻🙌🏻 — UFC Español (@UFCEspanol) March 15, 2025 "I've never been like, 'Man, that was close.' I was so confident. I know I won this fight. So that felt really good." "I've actually been thinking about this quite a bit. This was my night. I've been the underdog in all 10 fights in the UFC, and this was my fight to showcase: Hey guys, I'm here. I came in 0-3 (in the UFC), but I'm going to give it hell. I'm going to follow the game plan to a T, but I don't care if I have to make it scrappy. I don't care if I have to make it a dogfight. If anything, my half-Mexican blood is like, 'Hell yeah – let's make it dirty.' 'Cause I like making it dirty. "Whatever's next – my birthday's June 28, and that's International Fight Week. So that would be pretty cool. I'd like to stay pretty busy (with) three fights this year, but we'll see what Sayif (Saud) says and see what Dana (White), Hunter (Campbell) and Mick (Maynard) and Sean (Shelby) want to put me." Shrewsbury skipper Marquis sees red just seconds into League One clash

March 2 (Reuters) - Shrewsbury Town captain John Marquis was sent off in their League One clash at Peterborough United for an elbow to the face in the first challenge of the game within a few seconds of kickoff, making it one of the quickest ever red cards in football. The 32-year-old striker was shown red by the referee about seven seconds into Saturday's game after his challenge on Peterborough defender Sam Hughes, and eight minutes later Shrewsbury found themselves 1-0 down as Tayo Edun opened the scoring for the home side. Shrewsbury went on to lose the game and remain rooted to the bottom of the table with 27 points from 34 matches. "I don't think it was a red card," Shrewsbury manager Gareth Ainsworth told BBC Radio Shropshire. "John's devastated in the dressing room to be sent off. "He has tried to put his arm across the centre half, rather than leading with his arm and trying to whack him. That's two different things. "You've got to use your common sense and say 'it's a bit dangerous mate and it's a yellow card'. Not a straight red. All the fans are baying for it. The bench is up in arms, it's hard for the referee, but come on." Twenty-five years ago, then Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Kevin Pressman found himself in unwanted spotlight when he was sent off in 13 seconds for handling outside his box in a game against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Keith Gillespie, while playing for Sheffield United in 2007, was shown a red card for an elbow after immediately coming on as a substitute during a Premier League match against Reading.
