Grammy-winning singer Bruno Mars is reportedly set to return to the Fortnite universe as the headline act for Festival Season 9. While the move marks a significant addition to the Fortnite music metaverse, not all fans are singing in harmony over the news.
The leak, which surfaced via reliable Fortnite insiders @ShiinaBR and @SamLeakss, suggests that Mars will take over the Main Stage from June 18, replacing Sabrina Carpenter, whose run is scheduled to end on June 20. This marks the singer's second major appearance in the game after his 2021 debut alongside Anderson .Paak as part of the Silk Sonic set.

According to the leakers, two new skins will accompany his return - the "Bruninho" Outfit and the "Die With A Smile" Outfit, the latter tied to his collaboration with Lady Gaga.
While specific gameplay features tied to the outfits remain unknown, fans speculate they will be included in the Fortnite Festival Season 9 battle pass.
Bruno Mars' return sparks debate among fans
Despite Mars' popularity, the leak has sparked a wave of criticism from Fortnite's community. Many players expressed disappointment over Epic Games' decision to feature an artist who has already appeared in the game. Comments flooded social media platforms, with users calling the return 'uninspired' and mourning the loss of the previously rumoured Deadmau5 appearance.
