Delhi CM lauds traders, varsities for boycotting Turkiye and Azerbaijan
New Delhi Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday lauded Jamia Millia Islamia and Jawaharlal Nehru University for repealing the agreements signed with Turkish educational institutions. She also welcomed the decision of Delhi's traders, including those from Azadpur wholesale vegetable market, to boycott products from Turkiye and Azerbaijan over the support by the two countries to Pakistan during recent tensions with India following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. 'Shows patriotism' The decision reflects the traders' patriotism, Ms. Gupta said. 'There will be no 'vyapar, varta or sambandh(trade, communication or relation)' with countries supporting terror. There has to be 100% boycott in our country of those countries that support terror,' she said while addressing a gathering at the Samajik Samrasta Sammelan hosted by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The CM also vowed that the Delhi government will always 'uphold the honour, pride, and prestige of the Tiranga [Tricolour]'. Ms. Gupta made the comments on the day her Cabinet colleagues Ashish Sood and Kapil Mishra led 'Tiranga Yatra' in their constituencies.
