UPMC Hamot hosting Wear Red Heart Health Expo this Friday
Friday is National Wear Red Day. It's part of a national movement to raise awareness about women's heart health.
According to a physician assistant with UPMC Hamot, women aren't always considered at high risk for heart disease and it's more commonly thought of in men, but that's not the case.

The American Heart Association cites cardiovascular disease as the leading cause of death in women.
'A lot of those things can get lost in women especially because we're always so focused on other things like breast health especially and so for women it's important to know that we're just as high of a risk for heart disease and strokes as men,' said Samantha DeLucia, a physician assistant at UPMC Hamot.
Port authority hosting two feedback events on former Erie Coke site
Friday, UPMC is hosting their 18th annual Wear Red Heart Health Expo at the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel.
They'll be providing lots of free screenings to determine cardiovascular risk and much more.
