Jordan Spieth is currently holds an overall world golf ranking of 44th, with four top 10 finishes thus far in 2025 after missing seven cuts in 2024 in what a rough season that ended early due to wrist surgery. Despite the impressive resurge that Spieth has been seeing, he was among the many major names in golf who struggled mightily at Oakmont in this past weekend's U.S. Open. Spaun, if a U.S. Open participant was going viral at Oakmont it was probably for all the wrong reasons, like a crowd-pleasing club twirl after hitting the ball roughly two feet—you know, like Spieth did. So what did Spieth do following a forgettable, but what proved to be a hardly uncommon finish of eight over par this past weekend? "Had a few beers Sunday," Spieth said. "We were waiting on the Scheffler's to come over here and, he [Scottie Scheffler] was after the delay, so I went to Buffalo Wild Wings with Michael [Greller, Spieth's caddie]. And I didn't exactly eat or drink the way I normally do there." Leaning into beers and wings, and likely anything other than golf being shown on the big-screen TVs, probably just earned Spieth a legion of new fans. Advertisement But what an unexpected victory lap for Buffalo Wild Wings, getting a strong free advertising bump from one of the biggest, most recognizable names on the PGA Tour. "Most of the time it's very, very good," Spieth explained. "But sometimes post-U.S. Open, I just kind of needed to throw a few back. And then by yesterday I was good. I'm still young enough that it doesn't really bother me the next day." If nothing else, it's good to hear Spieth still has a strong bounce-back game when it comes to over-indulging.
