Govt approves 19 projects worth Rs 3,898cr, to create 7,464 jobs
Bhubaneswar: The 136th meeting of the state-level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA), chaired by chief secretary Manoj Ahuja, on Friday approved 19 major projects at an investment of Rs 3,898.54 crore, marking a significant boost to the industrial landscape.

The approved projects, spanning 11 districts, are expected to generate 7,464 jobs across various sectors, including steel, industrial gases, logistics and tourism. In a major development, Tata Steel will invest Rs 700 crore to increase its crude steel capacity from 6.5 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) to 7.1 MTPA, creating 375 new jobs. Sree Metaliks Limited plans an Rs 885 crore expansion of its integrated steel plant in Keonjhar, promising 950 jobs.
The industrial gas segment will see the entry of Linde India Ltd investing Rs 425 crore in Jajpur for a new air separation unit with an annual capacity of 12 lakh metric tonnes. The beverages sector will welcome a manufacturing unit of Bhuvaneshwari Foods & Beverages in Khurda at an investment of Rs 300 crore, expected to create employment for 820 people.
The tourism sector has attracted six major projects, including luxury resorts and 4-star hotels, with a combined investment of over Rs 500 crore.
These projects will create around 1,448 jobs across Khurda, Ganjam, Angul and Koraput. Notable investments in other sectors include ACME Clean Energy's floating terminal at Rs 366.50 crore in Ganjam and a Rs 100 crore textile processing unit of Shree Sidhi Vinayak Texcolours in Khurda. The Khurda unit is expected to create 1,070 jobs.
"These investments align with the state govt's vision of 'Samruddh Odisha by 2036' and demonstrate the state's growing appeal as an investment destination," read a govt statement.
The projects will be implemented across Angul, Balasore, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Sambalpur and Sundargarh districts, ensuring balanced regional development.|
