Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip FE Launch Could Be Delayed This Year: Here's When It Might Come
Last Updated: Samsung is going to have a busy 2025 with a launch spree which should include a trio of foldable devices along with its first tri-fold model in the market. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 series launch is likely to happen in the next few months, with most reports hinting at a July 2025 launch this year. The company is widely expected to bring its first FE version of Flip model to the market but it seems the launch has been delayed. According to reports the Galaxy Z Flip FE model is going to be Samsung's first real focus on the foldable segment with an affordable product but now it seems the company is shifting its strategy to align with its current lineup. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE Launch Delayed: But Why Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE launch is now pushed to Q4 2025 as per the report, which means we won't be seeing it announced along with the Z Fold and Flip 7 models. The good news is that we could see the affordable Flip model introduced with Samsung's first tri-fold device later this year. The Q4 timeline suggests Samsung could debut the new foldables around October which is a month after the iPhone 17 series rolls out from Apple. According to a tipster, the FE Flip phone could be powered by the same Exynos chipset as the premium Galaxy S24 series. Samsung has talked about exploring ways to reduce the entry barriers for foldables so that more customers consider buying them. And one big way to do that is by offering its products at a more accessible price point. We are eager to see how aggressive the brand is ready to go with the FE Flip model, and whether it can deliver a product with a price tag that convinces people to buy and get more of them interested in the form factor. One UI 7 update delays for its earlier Galaxy S flagship phones, with the 2024 models finally getting the new Android 15 version in India this week. First Published: April 24, 2025, 11:24 IST

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE launch delayed: Know when the cheaper foldable could arrive
Samsung is reportedly on track to launch its new generation foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Alongside these flagships, the South Korean giant was also expected to launch a 'Fan Edition' clamshell-style foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip FE, at an affordable price. However, new reports claim that the launch of the affordable Samsung foldable may have been delayed to Q4 of 2025. This may come as a surprise to fans who were looking forward to an affordable alternative to the Galaxy Z Flip 7, similar to how the company brings FE models each year for its flagship Galaxy S series models. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE launch According to a Korean publication report, the awaited Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE launch has been delayed, and it could debut sometime in Q4 of 2024. Earlier, it was suspected that the affordable foldable would debut in summer alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, but a change of plans has been suspected. Now, the launch may occur alongside the rumoured triple-screen foldable by Samsung, which has been in planning for years now. 14% OFF 7% OFF 15% OFF Not sure which mobile to buy? The report did not reveal any specific launch date or the reasons for the delay, which may raise several concerns in the buyer's mind. As of now, it is reported that Samsung has started the display production for the upcoming flagship foldables and is prioritising the July launch event. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE: What to expect Reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE may look similar in design to the Galaxy Z Flip 6, with a 3.4-inch cover display and a 6.7-inch main foldable display. For the processor, it is suspected that Samsung has yet to make a decision between the Exynos 2400e and Exynos 2500 processors. For photography, the Galaxy Z Flip FE could retain the dual camera setup as previous generation models, which may include a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide. Now, we simply have to wait until the official launch to confirm what the new affordable Samsung foldable will look like. First Published Date: 22 Apr, 09:53 IST

New Galaxy Z Flip FE render reveals Samsung's sticking with a familiar design
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. After denying any such plans back in 2023, Samsung finally seems to be on the verge of bringing us a cheaper foldable. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE is expected to follow Samsung's flagship foldables later in the year, and now, thanks to CAD renders from OnLeaks and SammyGuru, we have an idea of what the more wallet-friendly flip phone will look like. As you can see from the pictures spread across this piece, the new handset looks nearly indistinguishable from the currently available Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6. The hinge, the dual camera array, and even the cover panel look virtually unchanged, with only a minor size discrepancy between the two. The Z Flip 6 had dimensions of 165.1 x 71.9 x 6.9 mm, while the FE apparently measures 165.1 x 71.7 x 7.4mm. In other words, it's a little less wide and just over 7% thicker. While it may look the same as this year's model, it should appear strikingly different to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. We're expecting the handset to pack a substantially larger front screen — up 0.6 inches to 4 inches across — with case leaks backing it up. Hopefully that means Samsung is planning more utility for the cover screen similar to what Motorola provides with the Moto Razr Plus. Although it may sound disappointing for the FE to inherit last year's look, it's actually good news. The Galaxy Z Flip has come a long way in five years, with early models sporting just a thin strip of screen on the outside frame. This was good for short notifications and telling the time at a glance, but not much else. Samsung could have resurrected that for the Galaxy Z Flip FE, and it's a relief that it has apparently chosen not to. Beyond the CAD renders, SammyGuru suggests that Samsung could use the same Exynos 2400e chipset as found in last year's Galaxy S24 FE. That offered slightly weaker performance than last year's Galaxy S24 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and will be a generation behind the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, which are expected to use the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset as found on the Galaxy S25 family. That said, it's still fast enough for most people's needs, and crucially, it runs Samsung's Galaxy AI features without issue. The render shows a dual-camera array on the back, but the site doesn't offer any insights as to the specs, merely saying it 'could likely' be the same as the Z Flip 6's 50-megapixel main camera and 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor. All in all, it looks rather promising, but it's price that will make or break it. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 starts at $999, which is the same as Motorola's Razr Plus. If Samsung can match the $699 starting price of the cheaper Motorola Razr 2024, then it could be a very appealing proposition indeed, and a contender to replace it as the value pick on our list of the best foldable phones.
