1 2 Lucknow: The CM Fellowship Programme , implemented to boost development in 108 aspirational blocks and eight aspirational districts, has brought about some unexpected but interesting innovations. In various blocks, Fellows went beyond the mandatory tasks to help residents implement simple but effective techniques to address local instance, in Etah district's Sakit block, CM Fellow Dinesh Kumar launched a programme to address child malnutrition . He worked with the district magistrate to prepare 'Samvardhan Super Food Kits', which were distributed to severely and moderately malnourished (SAM and MAM) children. The kits contained high-quality nutritious items like amla-jaggery laddoos, organic honey, mushroom-corn soup, amla-triphala-jeera juice, cookies and nutritious impact of these kits was visible in just six months. In the first quarter of 2024–25, Sakit block had 122 SAM and 762 MAM cases. Many Fellows are developing innovative solutions to major issues and presenting scalable development models at the state level, marking a new chapter in grassroots governance ," said a govt Hardoi district's Sandila block, CM Fellow Kiran Kumari introduced the idea of kitchen gardens to empower rural women and improve their nutrition. Based on the health of the women, for instance, to address specific dietary needs of pregnant women, she encouraged them to grow leafy vegetables at home.A local NGO, Mel Jol, worked in collaboration with the district's ADPO officer to ensure the functioning of nearly 300 kitchen gardens. Another story emerged from Basti district's Vikramjot block, where CM Fellow Shailesh Kumar Upadhyay helped start production of vinegar and pickles in Keshavpur gram panchayat. It began as a small shop (Shukla Sirka Bhandar) but has now grown into a thriving business.
