Sandwich ultimate frisbee team heading to provincial champs
The Sandwich Secondary ultimate frisbee team is heading to the provincial championships. They begin Thursday in Barrie.
'We're pretty excited. Last year, we got pretty close, but didn't quite make it so we're excited to have a chance this year,' a team member told CTV News London.
The Sabres went undefeated this season, finishing 9-0 in the Essex-County league.
In the inaugural season of ultimate frisbee last year, Sandwich lost in the final in a six-team league.
Ultimate frisbee exploded to include 17 high schools this spring, and the Sandwich players are hoping it continues to grow.
