Arunachal guv Parnaik honours armed forces units with citations
Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh governor KT Parnaik on Saturday presented governor's citations to the 13th Battalion Rajputana Rifles, 9 Grenadiers and 31 Assam Rifles at the Raj Bhavan here.

The citations were presented to the units for their exceptional professionalism, operational acumen and spirited elan and for building a strong synergy with the district administration and the people, an official statement from the Raj Bhavan said.
The 13th Battalion Rajputana Rifles (Thundering Thirteen) commanding officer Colonel Sangam Kumar received the citation for the Rajputana Rifles while 9th Battalion of the Grenadiers Regiment (Mewar) commanding officer Colonel Saurabh Sharma received the citation for the Grenadiers Regiment.
The 31st Battalion of Assam Rifles commanding officer Colonel Dushyant Singh Lamba received the citation for Assam Rifles.
Speaking on the occasion, Parnaik praised the dedication and professionalism of the units for their steadfast commitment to operational duties. He lauded their tireless efforts in safeguarding the sanctity of the Line of Actual Control and ensuring effective border management along the sensitive India-Myanmar frontier.
He expressed deep appreciation for the armed forces' contributions beyond their core duties. He appreciated their initiatives in building essential infrastructure such as community halls, school buildings, classrooms, playgrounds and facilities that have brought value to the lives of people in border villages.
He noted with special admiration the army's mentorship programmes for local youth, including coaching for UPSC exams, Sainik School admissions, and, most importantly, pre-recruitment training.
