Rare urethralblockage in woman treated
Lucknow: Doctors at Max Super Speciality Hospital successfully treated a complex case of complete urethral blockage in Sangeeta Singh (52), who suffered for 22 years since her first pregnancy. Sangeeta experienced severe difficulty and pain while passing urine, sometimes taking over 30 minutes. She visited several hospitals, but due to the complexity of her case and the risk of urine leakage, surgery was often denied. Dr Rahul Yadav, director of urology at Max Hospital, explained that her urethra (urine passage) was fully blocked due to scarring after childbirth. The team performed a special surgery called ventral buccal graft urethroplasty with martius flap, where a tissue graft from her inner cheek was used to rebuild the damaged urethra. A fat pad from her body was also placed to support healing. "Such cases are very rare in women and are often mistaken for urinary infections. If untreated, it can even damage the kidneys. The surgery took two hours and went smoothly," he added. Singh was operated on a week ago, discharged on Friday and can now pass urine without pain. HC upholds reparation for sacked sanitation staff
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has dismissed a petition by Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, which had challenged a labour court order awarding compensation to a contractual sanitation worker it had laid off in 2015. A bench of Justice Manoj Jain found no grounds to interfere with the labour court's ruling, which had concluded that the worker, Sangeeta, had completed over 240 days of continuous service before being abruptly removed from her role. While the court declined to order reinstatement due to procedural constraints around regular appointments in government services, it upheld the Rs 70,000 compensation previously awarded. Sangeeta had been employed as a sanitation worker at the hospital since May 2007, earning a meagre Rs 5,500 a month. She alleged that despite years of service, she was never provided with basic entitlements, no house rent allowance, no leave, no transport benefit, and even less than the minimum wages prescribed by the Delhi government. According to her, she was removed from service in 2015 after she raised concerns over these violations.

In Nuh, man runs van over wife multiple times till she dies
Nuh: A 38-year-old woman met a horrific end on Naurangpur-Tauru road in Nuh district, where her husband ran her over with his pickup truck multiple times until she drew her last breath. The brutal murder, which occurred around 2pm on Friday, followed months of marital disputes. According to police, Sangeeta, a resident of Kota Khandewla village, had endured years of abuse at the hands of her alcoholic husband, Narender (40), who repeatedly demanded money from her. On Friday too, Sangeeta was assaulted, prompting her to reach out to her brother, Pradeep Kumar, for help. In another phone call, Narender issued an ultimatum to Pradeep —he would kill her if he did not take her sister away. Pradeep rushed to his sister's house, only to find her being assaulted by both Narender and their 20-year-old son. Despite managing to escape with Sangeeta on his motorcycle, their relief was short-lived. Narender, on hot pursuit, rammed their bike with his pickup truck on Naurangpur-Tauru road. While Pradeep managed to save himself by leaping into the nearby fields, Sangeeta wasn't as fortunate. The man repeatedly drove over his wife until she succumbed to her injuries.A murder case was registered at Mohammadpur Ahir police station against five family members, including Narender, his son, and Sangeeta's in-laws. According to Pradeep, he had recently given Rs 2.9 lakh to Narender to stop the abuse, but the demands continued, with Narender asking for an additional Rs 1.5 lakh before the fatal incident. "We have booked five members of the family, including the husband and son of the deceased. Whenever Narender used to thrash Sangeeta, her son supported his father and assaulted his mother as well. We will soon nab the absconding accused," the SHO said. The case assumed additional urgency as Pradeep revealed that his younger sister, who married Narender's brother in 2003, might also be in danger. The FIR was registered under sections 103 (murder), 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 3(5) (act done by several persons) of BNS.
