8 accused get 3-day police custody in property dealer contract killing

Twelve persons, including the minors, had been rounded up by the crime branch for their role in hacking property dealer Ankush Kadu to death on April 20 at Guru Teg Bahadur Singh Nagar. Sources stated that Sangita, who was arrested for murder in the past, gave a contract of Rs15 lakh to eliminate Kadu over a north Nagpur property dispute, which had lasted for over two decades. Kadu, who also had several offences against him, had multiple disputes related to properties with others as well. One of the accused, Rahul Wagh, is also related to a radical outfit.
Senior inspector Satish Ade of Kapil Nagar police station said that the eight accused would be thoroughly grilled. "We sought remand for around one week but got three days from the court. The accused will be thoroughly grilled. More persons could be arrested in the future," said the Senior PI.
