Maharishi Kashyap's legacy to inspire humanity forever: CM Nayab Singh Saini announces major development initiatives

Kurukshetra: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that a state-run institution in Haryana will soon be named after Maharishi Kashyap, honoring the sage's lasting contribution to Indian culture and spirituality. The announcement was made during the state-level celebration of Maharishi Kashyap Jayanti held in Ladwa, Kurukshetra under the 'Sant-Mahapurush Vichar Samman Evam Prasar Yojana.' Addressing a large gathering at the event, CM Saini described Maharishi Kashyap as a guiding light of Indian spirituality and culture, praising his monumental works such as the Kashyap Samhita and his contributions to science, penance, and social reform. 'His inspiring life will forever guide humanity,' he said. Key announcements by the chief minister: A state-run institution to be named after Maharishi Kashyap. A prominent Chowk (intersection) in Ladwa will be renamed in Maharishi Kashyap's honor. Land to be allocated in Ladwa, Kurukshetra, or Indri for the construction of a Kashyap Rajput Dharamshala . Rs 21 lakh each for the expansion of existing Kashyap Rajput Dharamshalas in pilgrimage towns Kurukshetra and Kapal Mochan. Feasibility checks to be conducted on other demands from the Kashyap community , with assurances for prioritized action. CM Saini also paid homage to the rich and ancient legacy of the Kashyap community, noting their role in Indian epics like the Ramayana. He recalled King Nishad, a revered figure from this community, who offered refuge to Lord Rama during his exile. He also acknowledged their significant contributions to India's freedom struggle. "The Prime Minister had vowed that those responsible for killing innocent citizens would face the consequences. Our forces fulfilled that promise, shocking the world with their resolve and advanced capabilities," he said. He asserted that PM Modi's vision for transforming India into a developed nation and a cultural superpower by 2047 will see decisive participation from the Kashyap community. Welfare initiatives under 'Mission Antyodaya' Reaffirming the state government's commitment to uplifting the underprivileged, CM Saini elaborated on various welfare schemes under 'Mission Antyodaya.' He emphasised that the government is actively promoting the messages of great saints and philosophers to foster equality and social upliftment. Key welfare measures include: 27% reservation in educational institutions for backward class students. Increase in the annual income limit for the 'creamy layer' from ₹6 lakh to ₹8 lakh. Several initiatives focused on the economic empowerment of poor families and farmers. CM Saini highlighted that since the current government's return to power — aided significantly by support from the Kashyap community — 19 out of 90 election promises have already been fulfilled, with the remaining to be completed soon. Distinguished Dignitaries in Attendance The event was graced by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Bedi, MLAs Ramkumar Kashyap, Jagmohan Anand, former minister Subhash Sudha, and a host of senior BJP leaders and office-bearers, including Praveen Atre, Kailash Saini, Neha Singh (DC), Nitish Agarwal (SP), and community leaders from the Kashyap and Saini Sabhas. The occasion served as both a tribute to a revered sage and a testament to the state government's commitment to cultural heritage, community upliftment, and inclusive development.
