‘Sant Peeth' a medium to ensure Maha's traditions, philosophy & culture passes to next generation: CM

1 2 Pune: Sant Peeth is a medium that will ensure passing of Maharashtra's traditions, philosophy, and knowledge of our culture to the next generation so that they can reach global platforms, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Wednesday. Fadnavis said that Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Sant Peeth in Chikhali was preserving the legacy and traditions followed by warkaris and kirtankars by imparting the teachings of saints in Sanskrit, Marathi, Hindi, and English. "The students are trained here in a way that they can promote Bhagwat Dharma globally in future," he said. Sant Peeth is the first-of-its-kind school in Maharashtra started by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), offering holistic education integrating warkari tradition, Sanskrit, and Sant literature with modern education. Inaugurating an art gallery' and auditorium at the institute, the CM said that the govt will provide support for its future expansion plans. He said the govt was setting up similar institutes in Pandharpur and Alandi, and they would try to create a way to connect all these institutes with each other. Fadnavis also launched a slew of development projects by PCMC during an official event in Chikhali later in the day. The visit is viewed as politically significant in the backdrop of the upcoming civic elections. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 月 **,***원대 '실비보험' 최적가 비교가입! The delay in completion of the bridge had drawn sharp criticism from opposition leaders. During the visit, the CM also performed 'bhoomipujan' (groundbreaking ceremony) for the widening of the service road along Pune-Bengaluru highway within PCMC limits. The project would be implemented by National Highways Authority of India. The widening of the service road from 12 meters to 24 meters on both sides between Tathawde and Wakad would help in reducing traffic congestion. The CM also launched a city-wide tree plantation campaign under which the civic body plans to plant 1.5 lakh trees over the next year. Political analysts termed the launch of multiple infrastructure projects as a strategic push by BJP-led state govt to regain ground ahead of the PCMC elections. The CM's visit comes just a day after both factions of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar held parallel rallies in the city, signalling the beginning of their electoral campaign. While appreciating the PCMC's initiatives, the CM said, "The interest of youths in sports is increasing, and there is a need for adequate infrastructure to ensure that our youths are trained well, and building a climbing wall was one such initiative as it is also one of the sports in Olympics." Box: CM tells PCMC to cancel proposed TP scheme for Charholi Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday told Pimpri Chinchwad municipal commissioner Shekhar Singh to cancel the town planning scheme proposed for Charholi. This comes hours after residents protested in a 'Sholay style' demanding cancellation of the scheme. Earlier, the municipal corporation had announced a halt to further implementation of the scheme after the residents announced a 'bandh' in the area in protest. However, the residents demanded that the scheme must be permanently cancelled, following which the CM made the announcement at an event in Chikhali. Fadnavis said, "No projects in the city will be carried out without taking people into confidence."
