Traffic on Pensacola Beach is on the rise, according to Escambia County engineers, and while they are tapping into cutting-edge technology to ease traffic jams, for now there's only so much that can be done about delays and congestion.

A Santa Rosa Sheriff's deputy, recorded by neighbors in a video that went viral of him detaining a young, disabled Milton man for not responding to the officer's commands, was suspended for three days for conduct unbecoming a member of law enforcement.
The information was obtained from a public information request to the Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office.
The department's Internal Affairs (IA) investigation found that Deputy Zachary MacPherson violated the sheriff's office policy of Standard of Conduct/Integrity, which states members should not engage in any conduct that constitutes conduct unbecoming a member or any act that is likely to adversely affect the discipline, good order, or reputation of the agency or that tends to compromise the integrity of the member.

The executive director of the Pensacola Little Theatre has resigned amid a review of the organization's finances.
A statement was released by Pensacola Little Theatre's Board of Trustees on May 28 that says recent concerns regarding 'disputed expenses' were brought to the attention of members of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees.

Florida Department of Education Commissioner Manny Diaz Jr., has been selected as the University of West Florida's interim president.
In an 8-2 vote Tuesday morning, the university's Board of Trustees chose Diaz to replace Martha Saunders, who resigned May 12. The Board of Trustees waived the 90-day notice of resignation and Saunders' last day will be July 13. She has served as UWF president since January 2017.
