James Pantemis took over the starting role but has missed the last two games due to a leg injury.

Portland Timbers jumped to a 1-0 first-half lead against visiting Sporting Kansas City at Providence Park in stunning fashion thanks to a stunning effort from Santiago Moreno. The 26-year-old Colombian is now in his fifth season with the Timbers but may have just scored the best goal of his full career after bagging an overhead kick to put the home side out in front in the 10th minute. Advertisement Not only was his effort a shoo-in to be a contender for MLS Goal of the Season, but the chance to celebrate Mother's Day the right way was too good to pass up after Moreno jumped into the crowd to hug his mother in the stands.
