Maserati ready to present new business plan soon, says CEO Ficili
Maserati plans to present a new business plan shortly, soon after parent company Stellantis' new CEO Antonio Filosa starts in his job later this month, the head of the struggling luxury carmaker said on Thursday. The loss-making Italian brand, the only one in the luxury segment for the world's fourth largest carmaker, has no new model launches scheduled now, with Stellantis reviewing Maserati's strategies after a previous business plan was put on hold last year. Maserati CEO Santo Ficili said the plan was being finalised and would not just include new products but also redesign relations with dealers and the assistance network. Maserati ready to present new business plan very soon, brand boss says
MODENA, Italy, June 5 (Reuters) - Maserati plans to present a new business plan shortly, soon after parent company Stellantis' new CEO Antonio Filosa officially starts in his job later this month, the head of the struggling luxury carmaker said on Thursday. The loss-making Italian brand, the only one in the luxury segment for the world's fourth largest automaker, has no new model launches scheduled at the moment, with Stellantis reviewing Maserati's strategies after a previous business plan was put on hold last year. Maserati CEO Santo Ficili said the plan was being finalised and would not just include new products but also redesign relations with dealers and the assistance network. "We have clear ideas about what we want to do, we hope we can be ready very soon," Ficili said at the Motor Valley Fest in the Italian city of Modena, where Maserati is headquartered. "Let's wait for Antonio to take up his job," he added. Stellantis last week named its North American chief Filosa, an Italian national, as its new CEO. His appointment will be effective from June 23. "Antonio loves the (Maserati) brand, I am sure we'll do great things," Ficili said, adding Maserati will continue to design, engineer and manufacture all its models in Italy. Asked about market speculation that Stellantis could assess a sale of Maserati amid poor results and falling sales, Ficili reiterated the group had no plans at all to divest from it. Ficili, who is also the head of Stellantis premium brand Alfa Romeo, said a review of the Alfa plan was imminent too. The group has hired consultant McKinsey to advise on strategies for Maserati and Alfa Romeo as they face a hit from U.S. tariffs. Maserati makes around 30% of its sales in the U.S., while Alfa Romeo generates some 15%.

Alfa Romeo's Next Quadrifoglio Models Will 'Surprise You'
Alfa Romeo has officially ended production of the beloved Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio models. They will be missed. That said, the company is still producing other iterations of the current Giulia and Stelvio while it prepares the new models . Over the weekend at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, Alfa Romeo boss Santo Ficili sat down with our colleagues at Motor1 Italia , and confirmed the next Quadrifoglio models would both have combustion and electric power. Ficli told Motor1 Italia that Alfa Romeo is set to "surprise you" with these new models. Our colleagues asked if these cars would use Maserati's "Nettuno" V-6—itself a development of the outgoing Alfa V-6—and while Ficili wouldn't confirm it, it seems like a real possibility. Outgoing Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifolio But, we might have to wait for some time. Both the Giulia and Stelvio are moving to Stellantis' STLA Large platform, which currently underpins the new Dodge Charger and the Jeep Wagoneer S. Initially, Alfa Romeo planned for the entire brand to be all-electric by 2027, but in response to slower-than-anticipated demand for EVs, it's now working on hybrid versions of the Giulia and Stelvio . The STLA Large platform is designed for both internal-combustion and battery-electric powertrains. But, the late addition of gas power could delay Alfa's launch of the new Giulia and Stelvio entirely. Assuming that Quadrifoglio models won't arrive at launch, that means we'll have to wait even longer still. How long? The Stelvio launch could be pushed back from later this year to later in 2027. Maserati Just Unveiled a Program That Lets You Design Your Own One-of-a-Kind Sports Car
For the design of your next Maserati, the marque is letting you take the reins. The storied Italian brand just launched a new customization program, called Officine Fuoriserie Maserati, at its plant in Modena, Italy. The bespoke process will give customers a chance to be more hands-on in the making of their new auto, Car and Driver reported. Is Up for Grabs at $28.9 Million A Couple of Prominent Collectors List Their Art-Filled Coral Gables Mansion for $16.7 Million The program offers two avenues for you to take with your car. The first option allows you to choose between two customizable lines, Fuoriserie Corse and Fuoriserie Futura. With Corse, it takes its design cues from Maserati's historic race cars, evoking a more timeless style. The main focus here is color; the liveries are made entirely of paint, using no decals, and you can pick between a variety of hues for the interior leather and upholstery. As for Futura (as the name suggests), that's all about looking ahead. You can experiment with new tech and materials, inspired by the interior design, sportswear, and product design industries, all with a focus on sustainability and performance. The second option within Officine Fuoriserie Maserati is centered around bespoke. Here, it's all about you: You'll be able to completely design your own one-of-one car with the help of the marque every step of the way, according to Car and Driver. To kick things off, you'll get a wooden box full of colors and materials from the brand to get a sense of what's on offer. And if you want a color that will only be used on your car, and your car alone, Maserati can do that, too. As of now, the only thing that won't be bespoke is the bodywork, though that could be a choice in the future, according to the publication. To show off what its new program can do, Maserati unveiled the MC20 Cielo Less Is More…? one-off car. Inspired by the Bauhaus movement, the ride has geometric shapes adorning its Blu Corse Matte bodywork, coming together in the rear to create a trident, which, of course, is the marque's logo. 'Maserati is synonymous with Italian luxury around the world and celebrating this concept at the highest level means putting the customer's desires first in everything we do, especially in the creation of exclusive cars through the Fuoriserie programme,' the marque's CEO Santo Ficili said in a statement. 'The attention to detail and needs of those who decide to buy a Maserati is what distinguishes us: with the new Officine Fuoriserie Maserati, we offer an additional tailor-made experience, a new chapter in our brand's history to celebrate our tradition of excellence in artisanship and innovation.' It's time to put on your creativity cap, then.
