Watch: Sergio Ramos nets 1st goal for new club in Monterrey
Sergio Ramos marked his first goal for Monterrey in their 4-2 victory over Santos Laguna in the Mexican Clausura on Monday. The former Real Madrid defender found the net with a trademark header in the 57th minute, giving Monterrey a 2-1 lead at Estadio BBVA. Ramos came close to scoring in his debut against San Luis last week but made up for it with a clinical finish from Sergio Canales' pinpoint cross. The Spanish midfielder later got on the scoresheet himself, while German Berterame and Gerardo Arteaga also found the net to secure three points for 'Los Rayados.' Santos Laguna managed to respond through Aldo Lopez and Bruno Barticiotto, but their efforts were not enough to prevent another defeat. The loss left them at the bottom of the Clausura table, while Monterrey climbed to ninth place. Following the match, Ramos expressed his excitement on social media, writing, 'Happy for the three points in a hard-fought win and for my first goal with this shirt. Thanks to the fans for their support. Let's go Monterrey.'

Feyenoord sign Santi Giménez successor and compatriot Stéphano Carrillo
Feyenoord have signed Stéphano Carrillo (18) from Santos Laguna. The prolific Mexican youth international has signed in Rotterdam until 2029 and arrives as an exciting sequel to Santi Giménez, who recently left for AC Milan. The teenager is considered a great prospect back in his homeland, especially given his record with Mexico's U17 team. In 33 matches he scored no less than 26 goals and also boasts of the CONCACAF U17 Championship Golden Boot in 2023. Carrillo is reportedly still in Mexico awaiting his residence and work permit, which means he is not yet immediately available to play for Feyenoord. He will travel to Rotterdam and join the team soon. Speaking of the next step in his career, the young striker said: 'A wonderful adventure awaits me on the other side of the ocean and I can't wait to continue my career in Rotterdam. Feyenoord is doing well in Mexico. I've also heard how loyal and passionate the supporters are. I'm going to do everything I can to succeed at Feyenoord too.'
