'We are in touch with the parent of the child and understand they are now recovering at home with a broken leg. "This incident has impacted all staff at the school and it could have easily been much worse if the driver was speeding. "We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who stopped and helped at the scene and helped. 'We as a setting are committed to work with our local ward councillors to look at measures to prevent this ever happening to anyone outside our school again. "Whilst we cant control what happens when children leave our nursery, we can look at ways to make the road crossing safer, and work with parents and residents of the village and North East Lincolnshire Council to make this happen.'
