Giant egg hunt and free crafts promise to keep families entertained this Easter
FAMILIES are being promised pots of Easter fun in Skipton with a giant egg hunt, crafting sessions and workshops.
Skipton Business Improvement District's (BID) giant Easter egg hunt, from Saturday, April 5 to Monday, April 2, will see families exploring the town in search of giant, decorated hidden eggs. Those who collect the clues to complete the trail and submit their trail sheet will be entered into a draw which could see them winning an Easter hamper full of treats donated by Skipton businesses.
Trail sheets will be available in Craven Court and at the town hall.
There will also be free crafting sessions at the Swadford cafe, Swadford Street. The two sessions, a joint event between Skipton BID and Creative Peeps, will take place on Thursday, April 10 and on Thursday, April 17 from 10.30am to midday and from 1pm to 2.30pm. Booking is essential, email info@
Skipton BID manager, Sarah Howsen, said: 'We're looking forward to welcoming everyone to Skipton for our exciting range of Easter events. These activities are a wonderful way to showcase what our town has to offer, while providing fun for families during the Easter holidays and support to Skipton's vibrant businesses.'
The art club at Skipton Town Hall will be running two workshops making printed spring posters on Monday, April 14. They will take place at 10am to midday, and from 2pm to 4pm. Tickets are £7.50 and available on the town hall's website. Easter themed free 'make and take' drop in craft sessions will also take place at Craven Museum, in the town hall, on Wednesday, April 16 at 10am and at 1pm.
On Easter Saturday, April 19, Skipton Town Council is staging an Easter special in the Canal Basin from 10am to 3.30pm and including a petting zoo, circus skills workshop and candle making .
