Those winds knocked over Sarah Mulhall's basketball hoop and dropped pebble-sized hail in her Northfield yard, before the sun pushed through the dark storm clouds on Thursday afternoon.
Another viewer named John scooped up even larger hailstones, about 1 inch across, he said, from his yard in South Euclid.
Viewer Alli Fittipaldo sent in a photo of a hail piece that took up half her palm in Highland Heights. She told FOX 8 the hail came down around 3:20 p.m.
Part of Northeast Ohio remains under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 7 p.m. The weather has also led to thousands of power outages across the region.
