Montevallo opens Xcaret Grill Mexican Restaurant

Owners of a longtime Pelham Mexican eatery have opened a new restaurant.
Montevallo is getting a new option for Mexican cuisine.
Xcaret Grill Mexican Restaurant recently opened on 1032 Main St. in Montevallo. According to social media posts by the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce, the business held a grand opening on April 24.
The owners of the restaurant are Daniel and Saray Jimenez, according to public records from the Alabama Secretary of State. They duo also own Cozumel Grill Mexican restaurant in Pelham located at 2754 Pelham Parkway in ZIP code 35124 which opened in 2002.

The restaurant offers a variety of Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican cuisine such as enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, tamales and more. Its website lists popular dishes including the Yucatecas, chicken chimichanga and cheese dip.
Efforts to reach the Jimenezes by press time were not successful.
Xcaret Grill's hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and closed on Sunday.
Xcaret Grill isn't the only restaurant that recently opened in Montevallo.
As the BBJ previously reported in March, China Mix is now open at 728 Main St. in Montevallo. It is co-owned by father and son Enrique and Luis Sanchez, according to the Shelby County Reporter. It has lunch and dinner menus and is open until 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Nearby Pelham has also seen business growth recently in the food scene.
Buck Creek Coffee, located at 2947 Pelham Parkway and owned by Karen and Torre DeVito, officially closed on March 15 but has since reopened 'indefinitely,' according to its social media page.
Additionally, Sweet Treats by Hayley will open in mid-May at 2742 Pelham Parkway, owner Hayley Meeks said.
Lastly, Elizabeth Moore Chocolates, an artisan shop that offers European chocolates, has relocated to 2655 Pelham Parkway in the Pelham Promenade shopping center.
