Three held with 23 kg ganja

Kakinada: The Sarpavaram Police apprehended three individuals involved in the illegal transportation of 23 kilograms of ganja. The accused, identified as Challa Naga Siva Manikanta, Maddala Udaya Kumar, and Yenugupalli Raju, were arrested on Friday morning following a raid conducted by a police team led by SI P Srinivas Kumar.
During the raid, the police seized 23 kilograms of ganja, classified as a commercial quantity under the NDPS Act, and a Maruti Swift Dzire car used in transporting the contraband. The accused confessed to procuring ganja from Dharakonda for illegal sale. The three accused have an extensive criminal history, with involvement in murder, theft, burglaries, and NDPS cases across multiple police stations. They have been remanded to judicial custody, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the absconding person.
