Kesari Veer Box Office Collection Day 1: Sooraj Pancholi's third ‘comeback' has disastrous opening of just Rs 25 lakh
Kesari Veer Box Office Collection Day 1: The Suniel Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi-starrer Kesari Veer had a poor start at the box office, as it failed to cross the Rs 1 crore mark on its opening day. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film's India nett collection on day one stood at just Rs 25 lakh, making it the worst opening of this year, falling short of even Azaad, which managed to collect Rs 1.5 crore on its first day. The film was promoted quite extensively and was also considered to be Sooraj's latest comeback to Bollywood; he made his debut with the film Hero, and then starred in Satellite Shankar and Time to Dance. But the film's opening day collections seem to indicate that the promotions didn't make a dent in the public's eye, as the film recorded poor occupancy through the day. Sacnilk reported that the morning and afternoon occupancy rates were 3.4% and 7.2%, respectively, while the evening and night shows grew to just 5.9% and 9.8%. During the trailer launch for the film Kesari Veer, Shetty congratulated Sooraj and urged people to go watch him and witness his hard work and talent. He said, 'He's seen a lot. Now, he's got this second chance. Trust me, this is an opportunity the Almighty has given, that Mahadev (Lord Shiva) has given. You'll see it in the film that he's unbelievably good!' The actor even admitted that Sooraj reminds him of his son Ahan and acknowledged the difficulties young actors have to deal with in this day and age. Kesari Veer faced competition from the Rajkummar Rao-starrer Bhool Chook Maaf, which fought its way back to theatres after the studio behind it, Maddock Films, had decided to release it straight to OTT. The movie made a decent crack and earned Rs 6.75 crore. It remains to be seen how long Kesari Veer will be able to hold on to its place in theatres. Directed by Prince Dhiman, the cast of the film includes Vivek Oberoi, Akansha Sharma and Mukesh Agrohari.

Meet actor once hailed as Bollywood's next big thing, son of a 90s heartthrob, but fans failed to recognise him at his son's comeback premiere.., he is… In the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood, where fame is always fleeting, nothing is predictable. One star could be winning hearts one day, the next day they might be completely out of the picture, but a few films remain etched in our memories for the long haul. But in this ever-changing industry, a comeback holds a certain charm, especially when it comes after years of silence. While for an actor it could be a revival of their career, for others it could be reclaiming their name, reputation, and aspiration. Once known as Bollywood's promising newcomers, later found himself in the middle of a controversy that pushed his life into the darkest, deepest hole. The actor we are talking about is none other than Sooraj Pancholi. After nearly a decade of an elongated court battle and scrutiny in the controversial Jiah Khan case, Sooraj Pancholi is all set to make his comeback with the action-drama packed film Kesari that is expected to be released on May 23. Besides, Sooral in the supporting role, the film will see Suniel Shetty in the lead role. Sooraj has been away from the industry for years, being embroiled in the controversy. He started his career in 2014 with a hero opposite Athiya Shetty. Besides that, he also worked in films like Time To Dance, Satellite Shankar, and Hawa Singh. Sooraj's comeback is not only about reviving his professional career, but it is deeply emotional since it's about clearing his image and reclaiming his name. Sooraj is all geared up for his return and is excited and grateful to be back on the big screen. But besides Sooraj's comeback, what caught everyone's attention was Aditya Pancholi, father of Sooraj Pancholi's presence at the Kesari premiere. Once ruling the industry in the 90s, Aditya gave many blockbuster hits like Saathi, Yaad Rakhegi Duniya, Aatish, Yes Boss, Jung, etc. As the video from Kesari's premiere resurfaced online, fans were quick to comment on Sooraj's appearance. However, what was surprising was that the fan couldn't recognise the veteran actor Aditya Pancholi. At the premiere of Kesari, actor Aditya Pancholi got emotional while speaking about his son's return. During the Kesari premiere, he shared the amount of hard work Sooraj has put in his role despite his challenges, he also spoke about his faith in god and persistence that gave his family strength to keep moving forward. Sharing the same feelings, Sooraj's mother, Zarina Wahab, also shared her joy, expressing how Sooraj's return was long overdue and the film has done justice to his talent. Sooraj Pancholi's return is not merely a comeback, it's a story of redemption and reclaiming reputation.

He later appeared opposite Megha Akash in the 2019 action drama 'Satellite Shankar'. Recently, in his first podcast after being acquitted following a 12-year legal battle, Sooraj expressed doubts about Bollywood offering second chances and described himself as a newcomer to the industry. Doubts About Bollywood as a 'Second Chance Industry' Talking to Bollywood Bubbles, Sooraj discussed the idea of second chances in Bollywood and expressed doubt that the industry truly functions as a "second chance industry." He noted that many actors have faced numerous failures-sometimes as many as 15 flops-yet continue to receive new film offers. Operation Sindoor PM Modi meets NSA, chiefs of armed forces amid spike in tensions with Pak India's air defence systems shoot down Pak drones in J&K, Punjab & Rajasthan Several airports in India to be closed till May 15 - check list Drawing inspiration from Arnold Schwarzenegger 's life story, Sooraj highlighted how Arnold endured a difficult struggle trying to break into Hollywood, but eventually, one breakthrough film transformed his career, making him a global superstar. He believes that in life, whether it's a second, third, fourth, or fifth opportunity, the film industry is just one part of the bigger picture, and life itself presents many chances in various forms. Facing Stigma and Staying Motivated Addressing the stigma he faces following his legal battle, Sooraj admitted that such judgment is inevitable and will always persist. However, he views this as a driving force, pushing him to work twice as hard as before. He shared, 'I have to really perform and deliver twice as much as I could before. And in a way, it's good, because it's kept me so motivated. I really want to prove everybody wrong.' While acknowledging that he still has much to learn about his craft, Sooraj remains hopeful that with a few more films, he will reach a strong and successful phase in both his personal and professional life. Starting Fresh: A Newcomer's Mindset Sooraj described himself as a newcomer, feeling like he is starting fresh all over again. He emphasized that he has taken care of his mind, body, soul, and energy to prepare himself for this new beginning. For him, meditation meant going to the gym and sweating it out through weight training, boxing, and following a strict diet, which served as his way to relieve stress. He recommended this approach to anyone experiencing anxiety, stress, sleepless nights, or depression, explaining that sweating it out helps release not just calories but also stress. He believes this routine significantly reduces anxiety. Additionally, Sooraj mentioned that he continues to pray internally, often chanting 'Har Har Mahadev' as a source of inner strength and calm. Sooraj Pancholi reveals he could have been acquitted years earlier in 12-year legal battle: 'There was no evidence against me'
Sooraj Pancholi , son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab , is an Indian actor known for his roles in Hindi cinema. He launched his career with the 2015 romantic action movie 'Hero'. He later appeared in the 2019 action drama 'Satellite Shankar' alongside Megha Akash . Recently, following his acquittal after a lengthy 12-year legal battle, Sooraj shared his experiences and the challenges of public scrutiny during this difficult period in his first podcast appearance. Facing accusations and choosing to fight the trial Reflecting on his court case, Sooraj described the difficulty of facing accusations when he knew he was innocent, explaining how hard it was to prove his innocence and how speechless it made him feel. Operation Sindoor How India shut down Pakistan's second desperate bid to escalate tensions Pak used civilian planes as shield to launch failed drone attack: India S-400, Spyder, Akash: What is in India's air defence arsenal? He mentioned that he had the option to seek discharge early in the trial and could have been acquitted years ago. However, after discussing with his lawyer and his father, he decided against it because he feared that if he was acquitted too soon, people would assume it was due to his privileged background rather than justice being served fairly. Commitment to a full trial despite the option to discharge The actor explained that he told his father he wanted to go through the trial, even though he didn't know how long it would take, believing that facing the process would answer every question in court and reveal who was right or wrong. He endured a 12-year-long legal procedure before his trial finally took place, which he won on merit. He emphasized that he could have ended the case years earlier with a discharge since there was no evidence against him. Even now, no evidence has been presented, and if there had been any, it should have been brought forward. Ultimately, he won his case through a full trial. The reality of the trial and lack of media support He continued by explaining that if people truly understood what a trial entails, they would know that every question must be answered and every answer scrutinized. He went through the entire process and was acquitted-not found guilty-because there was no evidence against him. However, he noted that no one talked about this, and the media did not support him, nor did others, because it didn't provide the sensationalism they sought. He admitted that his mistake was not speaking up for himself at the time, as many advised him against it. Looking back, he feels that if he had spoken out earlier, people might have heard his side of the story, which he has never fully shared and does not intend to, as the matter is now behind him. Enduring 12 years of legal battle and public skepticism In the same interview, Pancholi expressed that many people fail to recognize that he went through a full trial and was acquitted. Despite this, he still faces comments demanding "justice" for the case. He emphasized that he endured the entire justice system, waiting 12 years and sacrificing his career in the process. Pancholi stated that if given the choice between making a film or facing trial, he would choose the trial every time because he wanted a clean chit through the legal process. He believes that by going through the trial, he ensured that justice was served and there can be no doubt about the outcome. Reflecting on the personal toll of the ordeal Concluding his thoughts, the actor expressed that if people are still questioning him, he doesn't know what more a person can do or what else a law-abiding citizen could have done. He recalled being only 21 years old when he had to face the ordeal, which took 12 years to resolve. He asked people to imagine going through such a situation at that age. During that time, he didn't even have a passport and could only travel for work. While the world was pointing fingers at him, he was simultaneously trying to understand himself, life, love, work, his career, and his path forward.
