Meet man who started acting right after graduation, has done over 200 films, also made a big name in politics, he is... In the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood, many actors come and go every day. However, some rare gems carve a niche for themselves and remain etched in the memories of the audience. One such tale is of a legendary actor who not only lit up the silver screen with his strong presence and impeccable performance, but his actions also conspired in Indian politics, creating a legacy both on the silver screen and on the public stage. The actor that we are talking about is none other than Raj Babbar. Raj was born on 23rd June 1952 in Tundla, Uttar Pradesh. He was the eldest among his six siblings. Having a knack for acting right from childhood, Raj ventured into his passion for acting at a young age. He went to the prestigious National School of Drama (NSD) in 1975, and soon after he graduated, he entered the world of entertainment. In 1980, Babbar made his debut in the industry with the film Sau Din Saas Ke opposite Reena Roy. Although Raj did many films in his career, he rose to fame through Insaaf Ka Tarazu, which established him as a great performer, especially in a negative role. One of his most memorable performances was in the film Nikaah, where he portrayed the complex character of Afaaq Haider. In his long career trajectory, Raj did over 200 films that not only won the hearts of the audience, but also made him a legend in the negative role. However, Raj's skills weren't limited to acting; he also ventured into politics in the year 2004. He was elected as a Member of Parliament from Firozabad on a Samajwadi Party ticket. However, after being suspended from the party in 2006, he joined the Indian National Congress. As a party spokesperson, he remained a prominent political figure. In 2014, he contested the Lok Sabha elections from Ghaziabad, hoping to make a significant impact once again. Unfortunately, this time he didn't receive the public support he expected. Raj celebrates his 73rd birthday today, and his contribution to Indian politics and cinema cannot go unnoticed For breaking news and live news updates, like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter and Instagram.
