Golden glory for Kuwait at the Arab Shooting Championship

CAIRO, April 26, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti shooting team captured two gold medals on Friday at the 2025 Arab Shooting Championship, currently taking place in Cairo. Kuwait's shooters — Saud Al-Kandari, Mohammad Al-Daihani, and Abdulaziz Al-Saad — claimed the gold medal in the men's team skeet competition, with Egypt securing the silver and Bahrain taking the bronze. In the men's skeet event, Kuwait's Abdulaziz Al-Saad added another gold medal to his country's haul. Qatar's Nasser Al-Attiyah finished second, while Bahrain's Tamar Al-Watta took third place. With today's results, Kuwait's medal count at the tournament rose to four — two golds and two bronzes — according to Saad Al-Suwait, a member of the Kuwaiti delegation. The Kuwaiti mixed team secured the bronze medal in the pistol shooting event at the Arab Shooting Championship, currently underway in Cairo until May 1. Abdullah Al-Barakat, head of the Kuwaiti shooting delegation, told KUNA that shooters Hamad Al-Namshan and Ghezlan Al-Hassan clinched third place after a tough competition against several Arab teams. The mixed team rifle event will kick off on Sunday, expressing his hope for continued success for the Kuwaiti shooters. In addition, the Kuwaiti women's shooting team claimed a bronze medal in the 10-meter team pistol shooting final on Thursday. The championship has drawn around 300 participants from 19 Arab countries.
