RAO Commander receives Saudi Delegation
Muscat: Maj. Gen Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman received in his office at Al Murtafa'a Camp a delegation from the Authority for Supplies of the Saudi Armed Forces. During the meeting, the two sides explored areas of mutual military cooperation. They also discussed several matters of mutual interest. The meeting was attended by several senior RAO officers.

US, SA sign $142B defense sales agreement: WH
Washington, May 13 (UNI) US President Donald Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman signed on Tuesday a strategic economic partnership document between the two countries, media reports said. The two leaders also inked a series of bilateral agreements covering various fields, including energy and defense, on the sidelines of a Saudi US summit in the presence of Trump and bin Salman at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, Anadolu news reported The two sides signed additional agreements in the fields of energy and defense, most notably a letter of intent between the Saudi and US defense ministries regarding the development and modernization of the Saudi Armed Forces through future defense capabilities, the Saudi Al Ekhbariya channel reported. They also signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of mining and mineral resources and a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the energy sector. Additionally, a letter of intent was signed to enhance joint cooperation and develop requirements related to ammunition, training, support services, maintenance, and modernization of systems and spare parts for land and air systems of the Ministry of National Guard. The White House said the US and Saudi Arabia have signed the "largest defense sales agreement in history" worth nearly $142 billion, providing Saudi Arabia with state-of-the-art warfighting equipment and services from over a dozen US defense firms.' Elon Musk appeared to be enjoying himself as he laughed and joked in Saudi Arabia with President Trump as he was introduced to the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman US President Donald Trump has met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, but it was his election pal Elon Musk who stole the limelight. One by one, Saudi dignitaries and officials lined up to greet Trump today, before US officials and business leaders did the same, queueing to have their few seconds shaking hands with Mohammed bin Salman. The usually brief exchanges consisted of a handshake, a nod of the head and some brief words, until billionaire Musk came into view and dominated the prince for some time. Musk could be seen first shaking the Saudi's hand before doing the same with the American leader, but instead of moving on Musk then chatted away - with Trump more than once rubbing his arm as if to encourage him to stay. An aide appeared to be trying to move things along, and a Saudi photographer moved in to capture the unusual moment while Musk stayed. He even looked around and gestured with his hands, laughing away before eventually moving on. The President and Crown Prince later sat side by side and spoke to the press in Riyadh. The US president said 'a lot of cheques' and 'probably two million jobs' in the US were being talked about during this visit. Speaking to Mohammed bin Salman, he said: 'Number one, I like visiting with you and we've known each other very well, and I really believe we like each other a lot. 'Number two,' Trump said, the US had gotten 'tremendous' investment and jobs 'and we'll continue to service your great country very well'. Trump arrived at at King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, shortly before 10am local time (8am BST), arriving on Air Force One where he was greeted by the sound of a 21-gun salute and trumpets. The two leaders headed to the Royal Court, for the lengthy procession of dignitaries, officials and business figures - including Musk - who had waited to shake hands with them both. Saudi Arabia is the first leg of Trump's tour of the Gulf, where he will also visit Qatar and the United Arab Emirates in the coming days. Trump and bin Salman today signed a 'strategic economic partnership'. The agreements include a "letter of intent" between the US and Saudi Arabia defence departments regarding the modernisation and development of the capabilities of the Saudi Armed Forces. Energy and mining agreements are among the other things included in the deal, which they sat and signed in a ceremony in front of the cameras this afternoon.

Saudi forces conclude military exercises
RIYADH: The Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force Lt. Gen. Prince Turki bin Bandar attended the closing ceremony of the 'Victory Spears 2025' exercise at the Air Warfare Center in Dhahran on Thursday. The exercise involved the Saudi Armed Forces, Ministry of National Guard, Presidency of State Security, National Cybersecurity Authority, and forces from 15 nations. Prince Turki also laid the foundation stone for the first expansion of the center, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The exercise included various air and maritime operations, demonstrating a high level of readiness in planning, preparation and execution by the armed forces, the SPA added. Prince Turki highlighted that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman inaugurated the Air Warfare Center in 2019, with a vision to make it a world-class facility. Prince Turki emphasized the inclusion of cyber warfare as a new dimension of the exercise, underscoring the air force's commitment to developing the center. He thanked Saud Arabia's leadership for continuing to support initiatives that have enabled the Royal Saudi Air Force to achieve the highest levels of combat readiness.
