Anna Sawai wrote Zendaya a letter after they accidentally twinned at the Met Gala

Anna Sawai sent Zendaya a letter and a gift after their viral twinning moment at the Met Gala earlier this month. Zendaya's stylist Law Roach revealed that the Oakland actor sent Sawai flowers after they made headlines for wearing similar white suits to the New York event. The thoughtful gesture then inspired Sawai to respond in kind. 'The thing is, she didn't even have to send me flowers, but she did because she just is that kind of person where she's trying to spread kindness, and I thought it was really cool,' Sawai told Elle in an interview published Wednesday, May 28. 'I wrote her a letter and sent her something back because I want to be like that.' Despite some of the internet discourse seeking to pit the actresses against each other, there appears to have been no hard feelings between the stars or their teams. Karla Welch, Sawai's stylist, immediately took to Instagram after the Met Gala red carpet to praise Roach's creative vision. She even joked that she and Sawai were paying homage to Zendaya. Though Roach was initially caught on camera rolling his eyes at the twinning moment, he clarified in a later interview that 'it wasn't any disappointment,' emphasizing that 'they both looked great.' 'People like to make up stories like that because it's a little bit more interesting than people who are getting along,' the ' Shogun ' actor told Elle. She went on to reveal that although the Met Gala moment was an accident, she does regard Zendaya as one of her style icons. 'I love Zendaya's style so much. I think she's so stylish, so fun on carpets. She always has this amazing theme — if she's promoting a movie, then she's wearing something that's related to that movie,' Sawai said. 'But then in her day-to-day life, I feel like … she's also just a simple gal, and I really just look up to her.'

2 Drugmakers Ordered to Pay 21 B. Yen for Toray Patent Breach

News from Japan May 28, 2025 09:54 (JST) Tokyo, May 28 (Jiji Press)--Japan's Intellectual Property High Court has ordered two drugmakers to pay a total of 21.7 billion yen in compensation for a patent infringement involving Toray Industries Inc.'s anti-itch medication. According to Toray and others, the court Tuesday ordered Sawai Pharmaceutical Co. and Fuso Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. to pay 14.29 billion yen and 7.47 billion yen, respectively. "We're delighted that our claims have been approved" by the court, Toray said, hailing the latest decision as "a key ruling in a pharmaceutical patent lawsuit." The parent company of Sawai said that the ruling was "unacceptable," while Fuso said that it "will thoroughly examine the contents of this ruling and appeal to the Supreme Court." Toray applied to the Patent Office for an extension of its patent to use active ingredient nalfurafine as an itch-alleviating treatment in 2017, when the patent was to expire. Sawai and Fuso in 2018 started manufacturing and selling their own generic drugs by mixing additives with nalfurafine. [Copyright The Jiji Press, Ltd.] Jiji Press

Zendaya Reached Out To Anna Sawai After Matching At The 2025 Met Gala

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – MAY 05: Zendaya attends the 2025 Met Gala Celebrating 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style' on May 05, 2025 in New York City. (Photo byfor The Met Museum/Vogue) Zendaya and Anna Sawai generated many a fashion headline last week when they both appeared at the 2025 Met Gala in near-identical outfits. While Zendaya appeared at the event in a sleek white suit and wide-brimmed hat ensemble by Louis Vuitton, first-time Met attendee Sawai made her appearance not long after in an uncannily similar look by Christian Dior. Cameras captured Law Roach—Zendaya's stylist and frequent collaborator—reacting to Sawai's entrance in real time at the gala. 'I am dying 'cause she's got on Zendaya's look,' he said to an interviewer. 'I'm so glad we came early.' A week later, Roach revealed that there was no ill will on either side and provided some insight into the inspiration behind both looks. 'It was two people paying homage to two different people: Yoko [Ono] being Anna's inspiration and Diana [Ross] and Bianca [Jagger] being ours.' He went on to express disappointment at the two women being pitted against each other by some commentators. 'It just happened,' he noted. 'They both looked great, and they're both beautiful women. I mean, I hate the way that people try to pin women or stylists [against each other]. It was just all great.' (Photo byfor The Met Museum/Vogue) Zendaya hasn't commented on the accidental twinning. However, Roach confirmed that she sent flowers to Sawai to congratulate her on her first Met. Sawai was just as gracious about the matter, taking to her Instagram stories to playfully comment, 'Celebrating the spirit of Black dandyism and Zendaya.' She later added in a post, 'I know a lot of people have a lot to say, and trust me, I admire her too 🤣🤍 But most importantly, I'm so happy with my look, so please be happy for me too.' With Zendaya's fit and flare pants as well as the addition of a vest, different from Sawai's wide-legged trousers and white gloves, fans are sure to appreciate the ingredients that went into creating two equally chic end results. topics: Zendaya, law roach, anna sawai, Met Gala, Met Gala 2025, celebrity, fashion, celebrity news, celebrity fashion, Red Carpet, Trending

Law Roach Addresses Rumored Tension Between Zendaya and Anna Sawai Following Met Gala Appearances

Law Roach says all things are good between his client Zendaya and Anna Sawai. On May 5, the actresses broke the Internet after showing up to the 2025 Met Gala in nearly identical looks in honor of the "Tailored for You" dress code. Each wore a fitted white suit with a floppy hat, with Zendaya, 28, in Louis Vuitton by Pharrell Williams and Sawai, 32, in Dior. Despite the commotion their accidental twinning caused online, Roach — who was filmed cooly reacting to seeing Sawai on the carpet — confirms that the vibes are all good not only between the two stars, but also between himself and Sawai's stylist. is now available in the Apple App Store! Her stylist Karla Welch and I are very friendly, we've known each other for years. Karla and I talked, Zendaya sent Anna flowers because it was [Sawai's] first Met," he said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the Disney Upfront on May 13. Roach added that the moment was no big deal since Zendaya and Sawai were "two people paying homage to two different people." The Euphoria actress had drawn inspiration from Diana Ross and Bianca Jagger while the Shōgun star's ensemble nodded to Yoko Ono. "It just happened. They both looked great and they're both beautiful women. I hate the way people try to pin women or stylists [against each other]," Roach added. While Zendaya has yet to comment on the situation, Sawai opened up about it on Instagram, writing, "I know a lot of people have a lot to say, and trust me, I admire her too. But most importantly, I'm so happy with my look, so please be happy for me too." This year's Met Gala theme celebrated the Costume Institute's exhibit "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." Per Vogue, the exhibit draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller's 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity and will "feature garments, paintings, photographs, and more — all exploring the indelible style of Black men in the context of dandyism, from the 18th century through present day." Miller will serve as a guest curator for the show with Costume Institute Curator in Charge Andrew Bolton. Read the original article on People

Zendaya sent Anna Sawai this sweet gift after their accidental Met Gala twinning moment

Zendaya 's reaction to accidentally twinning with Anna Sawai at the Met Gala proves that there's no hard feelings between the two stars. Both actors went viral for their strikingly similar all-white ensembles — Zendaya in a Louis Vuitton suit with flared pants and Sawai in a Dior suit with wide-leg trousers — with many fans quick to pit the two against each other in a 'who wore it best' scenario. Now a week later, Zendaya's longtime stylist Law Roach confirmed that neither star, or their teams, are upset over the incident. He noted that the Oakland native even sent Sawai flowers after the event. "I think people thought that there was some type of disappointment on our end,' he told Entertainment Tonight in a clip posted on Tuesday, May 13. '(Sawai's) stylist Karla Welch and I are very friendly, we've known each other for years, and Karla and I talked. Zendaya sent Anna flowers, you know, because it was her first Met.' Roach was in the middle of an on-camera interview when Sawai hit the carpet on May 5, and was caught rolling his eyes. 'I am dying 'cause she's got on Zendaya's look,' he told Hello Beautiful. 'I'm so glad we came early.' Despite that initial reaction, however, Roach now acknowledges that both actors nailed the night's theme, 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,' and emphasized that though they looked similar upon first glance, each look had a different story behind it. 'It wasn't any disappointment, it was like two people paying homage to two different people. Yoko (Ono) being Anna's inspiration and Diana (Ross) and Bianca (Jagger) being ours,' Roach continued, referring to the pop culture icons. 'It just happened and they both looked great and they're both beautiful women.' Sawai shared a similar reaction to this discourse on her Instagram account last week when sharing photos of her outfit. 'I know a lot of people have a lot to say, and trust me, I admire her too,' the ' Shogun ' actor wrote. 'But most importantly, I'm so happy with my look, so please be happy for me too.' Welch also acknowledged the moment on social media last week, praising Roach's creative vision and joking that they were paying homage to Zendaya as well as Ono.
